sitting here with Tiger laying at my side, giving him a tummy rub.His paws are grasping my hand so I don’t stop. Nice to see him a bit more comfortable. After being so sick last night and the stress of the ER visit. Hopefully his numbers will come down gently and his tummy will feel better today. Hug your little ones today, they are precious!
Sweet Tiger. He loves you back so much, Deb. You’re an amazing Mom to him.
Praying he’s feeling better today.
My thoughts are with you. Sending big hugs your way :bighug::bighug::bighug:

He is not wanting to eat and the libre shows he is on a downward path with his number at 156 and falling. May be going back to vet.

Ended up at the ER. On Libre he fell to 58 on the way, even after I put syrup on gums before we left. They checked him when we arrived and he was 126. They did it in the back and while back there the libre came loose. They gave him another IV of Zofran and replaced the libre and sent us home. Appetite not great but he did eat a little bit. Not sure what I’ll do about dose tonight and he’s earned another reduction. If he doesn’t eat hard to bring him up if he drops.

(((((((@Deb and Tiger)))))))) I am so sorry you have had such a stressful couple of days but glad the vet gave another shot of Zofran. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Did they give you any of it to give at home though? As I recall, it is dosed twice daily? I do wonder also if they tested for pancreatitis? That can cause nausea, pain and inappetance for sure and nausea kills the appetite as well. The treatment is anti-nausea meds and cerenia though, so it is good Tiger is being given things to help him eat.

I am glad the Librea is replaced and hopefully the strap will help to keep it in place. Your nerves must be shot, big hugs to you and your DH! Take a deep breath, and another!!! I know this is stressful but you are doing a fantastic job managing and I just know Tiger knows this and loves you for it!!!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Ruth but the bad luck continues, the new Libre just went out. No way can I shoot with it out and readings we got today and him not eating well. I just give up for tonight….

yes they did give us a prescription for at home along with the cerenia we are already giving. Hopefully will get him eating good soon.

Have a great night.

Oh nuts on the Libre! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Well, hold Tiger in your lap and what ever else you can do to relax, I am so sorry this is happening to you all at once:oops: You are doing a fantastic job though. I am glad they did give the prescription for the Zofran plus the Cerenia, that's your best friends for nausea and vomiting. Have a good evening and see you tomorrow!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

yea! It started working again!! It was just a blip I guess. Is Zofran safe to give long term? I know cerenia is, as he’s taken it long term now. We are pretty sure he has pancreatitis but they are thinking IBD or cancer as a possibility too, sadly.

Hooray for the Libre working again!!! :bighug::bighug::bighug: I have to say, I'm not a doctor, I could not say about long term. However, my mother was a two time cancer patient, she took it for years. We don't think she would have survived breast cancer without it, that chemo was horrid. I went back to your previous condos and I see where your vet suspected either IBD or lymphoma, and I am so sorry. I also did not realize you had just lost a kitty to caner, I am very very sorry for your loss. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: That's how I lost my Tiger as well. To help her to eat was critical because that nausea just spoiled everything and she also took both Cerenia and Ondansetron for long term. I know many on this forum have given Ondansetron so I am sure they will chime in. Did your vet have any opinions on the subject?

Thanks Ruth. Yes the libre is still acting up, it went out again but hopefully comes back. Thanks for that info and so sorry about your mom. The other kitty was tigers sister, so it is a real concern being litter mates. It was so hard nd I don’t want to think about going thru it again.

I know many folks here use it but I forgot to ask the vet.

Is Zofran safe to give long term?
Absolutely! Did you get a prescription for the pill or the injectable form of it? Doses differ depending on type. Neko took both Cerenia and ondansetron together for quite a while once her kidney disease was progressing, then with the SCL and heart disease on top of it. The two drugs target different nausea receptors, so are quite complimentary.

How is Tiger feeling now?

Hi Deb, sending you support. I see last night was tough. I hope you and Tiger did ok overnight. I hope he’s feeling better this morning. I’m sorry you are having such a hard time. :(

Good to know. It’s for the pill form. We already gave him one last night at midnight and just a bit ago this morning.

He seems quite a bit better this morning. He at least has wanted some food. A bit less than when he’s feeling at his best but at least has interest in it today.
It has been quite a weekend so far. I am so tired mentally and physically! We may need to replace this libre they put on yesterday. Its signal keeps timing out. Not sure if it’s a bad sensor indicator or placement. They put it more over his rear leg than over his front where it’s always been. They did it behind closed doors so we had no idea until they brought him out. Another shaved spot!

Fingers crossed we have a normal quiet day for all to rest except for the possibility of libre replacement…

Thank you both for checking on us and the good wishes! Hopeing you have a great superbowl Sunday!

Hi Deb, I’m so glad to hear he’s feeling better and eating better today, that’s wonderful news.

It seems really strange to me that you keep getting bad sensors placed by the vets office. I’ve never heard of so many bad sensors. It just seems like something they’re doing.

I do know that you don’t want it anywhere near bone you want it more on a meaty area.
If you can try to persuade them for proper placement. I’ve never heard of one over the leg area.

And again the only thing that I keep reading is if they’re using glue it can ruin the sensor and make it stop working, so maybe that’s something that’s going on I’m not really sure.

Here are some ideas of placement ( it’s the area I use for Ivy, on her back to side of spine)

Thanks Staci! Mostly it has been put like the 2nd picture. I made a tube for him but it still ends up pushed back whn he walks

yes we have had bad luck with the libre 3. One they hit a blood vessel, one (after hours vet) too much glue, one (ER) yesterday poor placement/ bad application fell off today. I’ve had better luck with the freestyle Inthink because it’s bigger and has more adhesive surface.

Whenever our regular tech puts it on, we usually have luck. Unfortunately he wasn’t in today and the vet put it on. Yesterday I wanted to go by there and get it put on but hubby insisted we just let the ER do it……bit miffed about that!

I guess we just can’t get lucky with it.

Thanks for trying to help me find a solution.!
