Tweety was running in the 200s and 300s yesterday nearly all day and night. Then out of nowhere she's 168 this morning. It was so hard to give that shot. But I want to stay the course of the 1.25 dose.

Saw many SS where kitties are in the 100s at AMPS and do just fine. So I'm Trusting this really is her best dose and she's leveling out?! Unsure. Just making certain she eats all her breakfast!

Great job making sure she eats and of course you can monitor with her Libre.
Do you ear prick to get a blood test if she goes low on the Libre?
What helps calm my nerves is that I test Ivy‘s PB with an ear prick if she goes lower on the Libre and usually she is somewhat higher with an ear prick on a manual meter.
So when I see a 160 number on the Libre, in my head, I have to tell myself it’s probably a little bit higher than that with an ear prick so that helps calm my brain.

Of course it helps to be able to do a manual test if you are concerned, which is always advisable if you can do that.

Thank you so much for the support and reminder. When she went hypo on 1/26 I did use her pet glucometer which read higher. Her Libre said 50, the iPet glucometer said 102. Didn't trust it, and tried again and it says 78. So you're right! I totally forgot the Libre runs a tad lower. I just hope she hovers here.

My hubby is home until 10:30 and till be back home by 1. So that gives some relief.

Of course if she dips lower before I leave at 8:30... I'm going to give her a small snack.

It's so hard to remember that a shot will not necessarily drop her super low just because she's already low. It still just doesn't make sense quite yet. :(

8:30 would be how long after you gave the shot? Can your husband get a test with a meter, if necessary?

It's good you shot! :)
It will be just about 3 hours. No... he can't test on his own. I just checked her at 1 hour after shot and she went down to 132. No I'm even more anxious. Gave her the rest of her breakfast. Which wasn't much. But I'm going to check again soon.

I am really worried. She's at 90 now. Just have a snack. I'm going to have to leave my phone at home with my husband. I'll give her another snack soon. I'm glad I checked at 30 minutes vs 60. :( I'm so sad and frustrated and just about in tears. The graph looks so bad like when she went hypo.

I just gave her food when I saw the 90. I'm very worried. I can poke her but it's a pet m0nitor and I was told they're not the same so now I'm not sure what to do.
Get a test with the meter. They read higher than human meters but you're likely to get a ore accurate idea of her numbers than with the Libre.

You're doing great. Worst case, you can feed high carbs if she is dropping and your husband can do the same after you leave.

It read LOW
NEXT TEST 116
NEXT TEST LOW

Libre says 60 :(

Now Libre says 120 glucomter said 116. Guessing we're clear now after giving extra food and kibble. Wow.

Hi all,

Well this was stressful.

Libre went from 168 to 60 in 2 hours.

Glucometer read LOW twice then 116.

This is after giving extra snacks and kibble. Which at do not give unless hypo.

Last Libre at 2.15 hours was 120.

Sheesh. I feel sick. I don't understand what happened and I'm a bit scared to leave for work in 45 minutes. I'll text twice again before leaving.

Test with the meter. Numbers don't bob up and down like this unless you're feeding carbs and then they wear off.
I gave her carbs as soon as I saw she dropped to 60. Not before. So on her normal dose and normal food she went from 168 to 60 for absolutely no reason.

Could you just list the readings on the glucometer and also what you fed at what time?

Meters can also give wonky (low) readings if it's a bad strip or not enough blood.

5:50 Breakfast Fancy Feast Beef Classic
Libre 168

7:19 Worry snack 1/2 Fancy Feast Gem Tuna
Libre 90

7:43 Panic snack Purina Kibble 1/4 cup or so
Libre 60

7:51 Glucometer LOW
7:52 Glucometer 116
7:53 Glucometer LOW
7:55 Libre 126
8:15 Libre 115

I would ignore the LOWS on the meter. 116 is quite safe and she's had HC kibble also after that. If you can, get another test with the meter before you leave for work?
