Hi all,

Well I think I was hasty in not giving Tweety 1.5 u last night when she was reading at 197. She rose to the 300s and never got below about 260 today. So... I think I was wrong. :(

I was very afraid at 197 at 5:45 pm that she would go hypo. So I went to just over 1 u. Approx 1.25

This morning trying to consistent went to just over 1u again.

Now that I see where she is... it kind of seems like 1.5 is about right but it took her so low so fast I am afraid. Someone told me about a "depot" and that I just need to pick a dose and stick with it.

Since I have a job now that I will be at for 6 hours with no way to monitor her, I am just afraid.

Someone mentioned the Freestyle 3 actually can monitor without scanning... anyone able to explain more about this?

Also, I welcome dose thoughts. I will not drop to 1 u that much I know. I know she needs for sure 1.25. The questions is whether 1.5 is best to keep her closer to the 100-200s. And really if I am willing to risk it not being able to monitor her.

I COULD get the Freestyle 3 next time and then go to 1.5. This Libre ends in 10 days.

We have used both the freestyle and the libre3. Yes, with the libre3 you have no scanning. You must be within 33 feet to get the signal but it constantly gives you her reading. If you have an extra phone you can also set it up where you can get readings while out of the house. The best part is the alarm that will wake you if she goes low. Staci can give you more info than I can ! We found they were both the same price also.

Not a bad idea about an extra phone -- that way anyone can scan her if need be as well. I hate that only I can right now and it has to be done so often. I will be at work though... so maybe it will not work so great if I cannot be home or we cannot setup another phone. I will think it all over. What we do for our babies!! :)

if you want to use the Libre 3 and have it reading the data, You do need an extra phone. You do not need to have any service on that phone. It just works on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. As Deb said it needs to be within 33 feet of your cat. If you go on the Abbott website, it will tell you which phones are compatible with the Libre 3. I bought an older iPhone on eBay since I didn’t have one lying around. And you don’t have to scan the cat. It just automatically reads the sensor so you don’t physically have to go over to the cat at all with any kind of device . It’s very seamless and it’s very simple but you do need a phone that will stay at home with the cat and then you link it up and the data is sent to your phone and anyone else’s phone that you want to monitor the cat’s data. This may be confusing sounding Until you read about it, more in-depth.
