2/4 Luciole AMPS 362, +4 351, PMPS 302 +2 283

Thanks for your commiseration, cecile! I'm wondering if changing syringes at this point isn't the wisest idea. I got the Eli Medical veterinary insulin syringes because they have half units, but maybe I should be sticking with the BD insulin syringes while I'm trying to get Lu started. I remember reading something about the possibility of differences between units in syringes when I was active here the first time.

I'm trying to link to a publicly-visible photo I took of a side-by-side comparision of the syringes, but don't seem to be able to.
 
A unit in a U-100 syringe should still be a unit in a different brand of U-100 syringes. But some have fatter vs thinner barrels and thinner vs thicker lines so you could end up drawing a different amount. And some have extra space above the zero lines. I was using calipers to draw Neko's dose, and at one point the BD's had so much space above the zero line that her dose was below zero according to those syringes, but actually closer to 0.25 units. I got my BD Ultrafine II syringes with 1/2 unit marks (purple and yellow box) from the regular pharmacy in BC.

If you copy and paste images into the text box, that should work.
 
Oh @Staci & Ivy , double ugh! But thank you, and best wishes to Ivy. She is such a beauty! I have my fingers crossed for no more fur shots for any of us.

I also discovered I did something equally dumb and dangerous. I ordered a box of U-40 rather than U-100 syringes. So last night Lu had a shot with a U-40 syringe. That box is now in my donation bag. But yikes to put it mildly! :facepalm:

Oh no, I’m so sorry about those syringes! I hope Belle is ok and I am so glad you realized they were incorrect. Get them out of your house, quick!

Thank you @Staci & Ivy, and that's a mistake I will for sure never make again. Fortunately, Lu is just high today, and doesn't have a great appetite. I hope and trust she'll be feeling much better soon! Thank you for your kind encouragement. That's something I remember from my previous time here - the kindness and help. It means the world.

I have a donation bag to be picked up tomorrow, and I'm putting a big sign on the box about the U-40s.
 
@Wendy&Neko apologies - with all the goings on today I didn't see your helpful message till now, about syringes and adding images. And "BD Ultrafine II syringes with 1/2 unit marks (purple and yellow box)" is exactly what I'm looking for. We must have them here in Quebec too. For now I have the BDs with unit markings, which are fine for the time being, until Lu needs a change of dosage.
