YESTERDAY'S THREAD

New day...new thread. Sorry for the lack of updates, been very tired.

@Diane Tyler's Mom didn't shoot in the morning since I had a vet appointment and I wanted advice before continuing. I'm glad I didn't because his BG has just naturally dropped into the greens again.

Vet still wants me to do just once a day but keep it at 0.25u. We'll see how it goes considering his numbers are green again. I feel like if I'm going to shoot again at the PM time it'll be 0.1u unless his numbers get really high.

Having a suspicion that his recent spikes are due to his UTI which is probably now resolving with antibiotics. Very weird situation. Initially his steroids and the UTI sent him into DKA so it's hard to tell how diabetic he is without those factors. Seems to be self-regulating for now but I'm not going to stop testing for a long while.

I have a pictures today! Happy snuggles as we get better :)

Third cycle of zero units and he gets down to 2.9 (52), I think I'd stick with that same dose for now. Definitely not 0.25 units! We do have what we call a drop dose. Push hard on the syringe plunger, put the syringe into the insulin vial/pen, release the plunger. The vacuum sucks up about a drop.

Nice to see him cuddle - even though I imagine it's warm there?

the drop down to 2.9 is insane! It might not be that low due to Libre 2 inaccuracies but he's definitely been in the blues and greens all day. The vet got a 9 on her alphatrak (192).
If he gets to 150 at PMPS time I'll try that! I think he's getting to a point where he might need some insulin but only the tiniest possible amount. If it's not high enough by his PM time I think I'll stall or wait until the morning. Still very scared to give him much when he's low considering how hard he drops off.

It is quite hot over here! Unfortunately he's a cuddler even when it is hot-- makes it a lot harder for me to sleep. with such short fur you can really feel the heat radiate off of oriental cats :joyful:
