Karamelle's numbers have been fairly stable for a while at the 1.25 dose. Is this a good time to do a curve to see if i can raise the dose a little to get the numbers a little lower or are these numbers ok to stay at? My vet is ok with blues and yellows and doesnt want greens at all. On the blood work the range for glucose is 72-175. is this the range that we need to shoot for? Im just a little confused as to the next step.
Karamelle threw up her breakfast this morning, which has me a little worried, but I think I know what happened. I have to give her 2 liquid meds in the morning and she was coughing a little after I squirted one in. I think it may have gone down the wrong way. She may have eaten a little more after. I had some food on another plate and I didnt see the other cat eat it. Shes ok now, sleeping.

Just tested at +7 and its 51!! Not sure what to do. Do I feed as usual and test in another hour maybe?

hmm, just tried to feed and shes not eating it.
I syringe fed her that portion. I will test again in a few.

I tested again at +8 and its up to 117. I think its ok now.

That was quite a surprise, that 51 @ +7!!! You are doing SLGS? I don't see any other tests but I am presuming you shot a reduced dose?

Yeah, but i think I know what happened. She threw up her breakfast and probably didnt eat any after that, so when I tested her at +7 she had dropped. I tried to feed her right after the test and she wouldnt eat, so I syringe fed her the portion and tested at +8 and she had gone up to 117. I just did PMPS and its 122 and she ate a bit on her own so i just gave her the regular dose. I hope that was the right thing to do. I was at the vet today with another cat and we spoke a bit about Karamelle. i showed him her spread sheet and what had happened today and he said if she didnt eat to skip the shot, but she did eat, just not as much. I thought about just giving her 1 unit instead of 1.25. Its so hard to make these kinds of decisions when its all so new. I will try and test again a couple more times.

Since you are following SLGS for dosing, you should reduce her dose to 1.0 units. The guidelines is to reduce by 0.25 units immediately, if they go below 90. Good luck with the new dose.

I did ask in this thread, but no one answered. Should I be starting a new thread to ask? I gave 1.25 at PMPS and tested again at +2 and its 175, so going up. I will test again at +4 but then Im going to bed as it will be after midnight. Should I start at 1 unit tomorrow morning even if its back up? Shes eating ok now.

Thanks, I actually did add the ?, but still got no response, and Id already made my own decisions so I removed it. I will lower it tomorrow but I think this was just a fluke because she threw up her breakfast. We'll see tho. Its 142 at +4, so not bad even tho I gave the 1.25 units.
