Good morning
I beginning to think Tiger is sending a stand in at night so he can go out carousing!
How can his numbers be so different at night. Up to about 4-5 nights ago he always went to his lowest number at night. Now he has much better numbers during the day. Hubby just knew he was going to drop last night and stayed up with him past 3am. Poor thing, woke me every hour to tell me that they were still high . Poor me, lol!

Any idea what’s going on?

Hi Deb, I’m sorry you guys are up all night. He’s totally bouncing from those lower blue numbers he’s been seeing. He’s not used to being in those “lower” ranges. It will take time to acclimate. Some cats take longer than others to do so, I. E. Ivy :)
I think what you could do in the meantime until you switch to the Libre 3 that has the alarms on it is, if you see him going up in the evening and starting a rise (to pink especially, even yellow ) and he keeps heading up, call it a night. Go to sleep.
That was what I did when I was using the Libre 2 that did not have alarms to alert me to a low number.
And since you can scan him within eight hours, you can see what his chart looked like over those hours looking backward.

If you look at his SS he hasn’t had one overnight low (under a blue number which is safe) to be in any danger at all over the past numerous weeks.

Does this make sense? That way you don’t have to stay up all night.
:)
If anyone else has thoughts, please add!

Thank you so much Staci!
Hubby keeps asking me what’s going on and I tell him he’s bouncing, he’s starting to not believe me. So I can show him this!
Is it normal (what’s ever normal with cats!) to bounce from day to night?
I would have gone to sleep when they stayed rising but I didn’t want to be responsible if they fell and he went to sleep. I hate, I told you so’s!
Thanks for reaffirming what I thought!
Glad you had a good night last night!

Have hubby read the posts on bouncing (the stickies). And yes from one cycle to the next. Look at Ivy’s SS. One cycle she’s low (last night) and this am, so far she’s higher (a response from her lows last night). Show him our very bouncy SS.
Sad that I need to use my own SS as a primer in what Not to strive for :(

My hubby keeps asking me why Ivy isn’t more under control yet…. Really???? Do you think it’s for a lack of trying! I tell him to have a talk with our feline daughter. :p

Funny how hubbys think it’s so easy and quick!

Tigers back on the going down elevator for his daytime activities. Nice drop the last hour or so. Now if he could just do that at night! If I’m going to loose sleep I’d rather it be for a good cause!

Hope you have fun tonight and get to relax Staci! You deserve it!

If only their wish is something we could grant. I’d be first in line to oblige.
Thanks, Deb. I hope tonight is smooth for us. I’m very stressed about this outing. Have to tell myself to breathe.

The 80 @ +6 means a reduction, right?

Just looking for confirmation….

May not be able to shoot anyway tonight. It’s 2 hours until his pm shot and his numbers are not coming up. Been flat last 4 hours and need to get to 175 to shoot. So we’ll see.

Still would like confirmation of reduction. Ty

Yes, since you are following SLGS, anything under 90 means a reduction. You'd be amazed how fast certain cats can zoom up end of cycle. If below your comfort zone (which will eventually work down to 90), you can try stalling for a bit. Which is not feeding and waiting up to 1/2 hour to see if he comes up where you can shoot.

TY Wendy for your response!

will stall as long as I can, if I have to. Can’t stall too long without feeding because of his tummy issues. Hopefully we won’t have to.

You also can't stall too long before their numbers start dropping without food. It's a fine balance. I'm just worried if you skip and he bounces, you'll get really high numbers.

Of course! Now it’s time to feed and shoot and it’s 156!

Took another reading and at 183! Feeding now and will shoot reduced dose.
