Hello everyone, it's been awhile! Lando's been well, same old boyo. He did fantastic on his trip out of town in December even though his numbers ran higher he came back down eventually. But today I'm needing a spreadsheet review and advice!

5 days ago we had a 52, so close to a reduction.
Ever since Lando's numbers have gone very wonky, with a test I just took at 196!!!! I considered a bounce but it's not looking to be the case anymore, as I'd seen him come back down and shoot back up, and it's been quite a few days.
Unsure of how to move forward.

Insulin appears clear, vial was opened 11/12, wasn't left out, don't think it froze, Diet is unchanged, FF pate mainly chicken and also gourmet savory centers minus the beef flavor. No keytones, appetite normal... Should I try a new vial? I don't think an increase is warranted since we had a 52 5 days ago. :arghh: it's been super cold the last few days, with a little snow. But nothing I can think of that'd stress Lando into raising his BG.

Hi Tank, I would put a ? In the beginning of your title to catch someone's attention .Good to hear from you :cat:

Done deal! :)

Yup same old same old, except for these last couple days :cat: wondering if I should cut my losses on the almost full pen and pop another one open haha. Very unsure of what's going on with this boy!

I did feel like the case of pate I got was very "dry" compared to previous cans, so I went ahead and opened a different case to see if it was the food one day but no change :p

The insulin should be good yet since it appears clear and you only opened it on 11/12.

We often think the vial is bad but usually it lasts 5-6 months or more. Looks to me like he needs an increase as he’s seeing a lot more blue.

I considered that but after a 52 the other night and until a few days ago, plenty of good mid cycles in the 70s... I thought maybe an increase wasn't necessarily the correct route.
The only reason I ever worry about the insulin is because my fridge is prone to freezing stuff BADLY. It's either too hot or freezes stuff and hardly an in between lol. To be fair, this is also the vial I took with us on our trip. I used a little water activated travel pouch during the drive and the hotel kept the insulin in their personal fridge just to be sure it'd be safe. I always worry about the insulin freezing :nailbiting: but it looks good, clear and no floaties *shrug*
Maybe it IS time for an increase again. He's been at .75 for awhile now. Makes me mad he'd been so low before and he's climbing again lol!

The 52 was 5 days ago. You can hold a little longer if you want but not too long if you see a lot of bg over 100 after amps and pmps.

That sounds like a good idea! I'm gonna hold it a couple days so I can be more available to monitor when he goes up. I have my partner get some med cycle tests and while I'm working and keep a close eye on what's going on

Update:

This AM I gave him his shot in the side instead of the rotated area around the scruff like I usually do. Thought maybe I've built up scar tissue and I'm curious if it's having an effect on insulin absorption. We have an 85 for the PMPS.... Going to do the same thing again tonight and see if there's a trend!

When Panzer's numbers start to get higher, that's what I do is switch shooting sides, it works for him but ECID good luck i hope he stays in the greens for you:D
