Sebastian’s mom (Lauren)

I’m AUDHD so any big decision making is hard for me, but this is especially hard since it feels like life or death for Sebastian.
Sebastian needs dental extractions really really badly. I can afford to take him to a low cost vet for this, but that vet confirmed they have nobody monitoring him after surgery (or during) which sounds impossible to me. He said he still feels comfortable going forward even knowing Sebastian’s background. Which also rubbed me the wrong way because regardless of outcome, this guy gets paid.
I have called soo many places and gotten so many different prices, but vets who will monitor him are at least $1500 out of my price range. I’ve had family and family friends apply for care credit for this difference, they were all denied.
I started a gofundme that has done very little.
I just lost my job due to my mental health being very very poor. I’m actually thinking about going inpatient if I can get my mom to learn how to give Sebastian insulin and test him.
This is all happening at the worst time possible.
So my choices are, go forward with the dental the 16th and hope for the best, or put it off and risk things declining further.
A bit of background on Sebastian, he’s had 2 surgeries about 3, 4ish years ago (prior to diabetes diagnosis) that went well. Dental extractions and an emergency PU surgery. He is suspected of having asthma and feline herpes virus. He also has allergies, but to what is unknown at the time (I suspect chicken, beef, dust right now.) He’s recently started to sleep so deep it’s hard to wake him. He twitches during these episodes. The vet suspects neurological/ seizure- like behavior. He started getting gabapentin for tooth pain, methyl b12 and cosequin and these episodes went from 100% of the time he sleeps, to make 15-20% of the time.
I know there are people in this group who regret not getting dentals done in time and I don’t want to have regrets later. I just don’t understand how they could not monitor these animals. Especially cause I know 60% of anesthesia deaths happen in recovery and Sebastian has this strange/ scary sleep thing.
If I put it off, the money I have saved thus far will unfortunately have to go into his current care because it’s the only money I have to my name. Which means it could take a year after I finally go back to work PT to save the 3k needed for a better vet.
This surgery is supposed to be 2 days away.
