Spot dose advice, high dosing

Hi. Been posting before. I am posting for Spot & Annette as she isnt good with computers.
Dosing advice as I am past my comfort zone.
Needs testing but current vet wants to charge almost $500 without obviously doing any research to what it actually costs. Looking for a 4th vet since diagnosis for appropriate pricing & a vet that knows their own guidelines on diabetes.

Over 10 units total dose, he goes up by 1 unit at a time, unless just tweaking a dose already seeing some high greens. Think of the increase as a percent of the total dose. You want the increase to by 10-15% of the total dose.

She also shouldn't be holding the dose as long as she has. With TR, if he's not seeing anything under 200, increases should be every 6 days/3 cycles. With some sort of insulin resistance in the picture, she needs to keep on top of increases to catch up to the resistance.

i discussed the options with her & she doesn’t feel comfortable doing a full unit at a time. She went to 11 units now & his last cycle at 10.5 units he went to 191.
He is starting to go low at later hours some so it’s possible she isnt catching every dip.
She is still trying to find an appropriate vet but she doesn’t have many to select from. I am even shocked at prices in some of those offices as they are higher prices than my area & in my state in Massachusetts we have higher incomes than down South.
That area seems to be very disappointing & inexperienced in vet care.

Those were only very high blues he saw. He'd be safe going up by 1 unit next time. She's testing enough and late enough at night that I know she's not missing any lows. When he's not bouncing, he seems to be nadiring around +5-+6.

Has she tried contacting feline only vets? With less species to cover, they might know more about feline conditions.

I just looked up feline only practice in North Carolina. Its around her in areas that are probably 2 hrs or more. She lives in the worst place to have a veterinarian.
