1/6 Bubbas AMPS 359 PMPS 265 +4.5 254

Question- if I gave Bubbas insulin at 6:00am this morning, would I be able to give him his 1.5 units dose at 4:30pm? I forgot that I need to be some here by 5:30pm and it’s an hour away..so I have to leave my house at 4:30pm..but technically I would be giving him his pm dose an hour in a half earlier. Would that be ok?

Can you test at +10 and post the number and ask? There are some circumstances where you could shoot early. If it's OK, I'd shoot as you head out the door so it's only 1 hour early. When will you be back? Shooting early can act like an increase. We haven't seen any mid cycle tests on this dose so we don't know how he's doing on this dose yet.

I actually ended up shooting and testing at 5:00pm right before I left. So technically I only shot 1 hour before normal time at 6:00pm. I was able to get a +4.5 and he went down about 20 points since his PMPS. But to be safe I only gave him 1 unit rather than his normal 1.5 units. I wanted to be safe than sorry.

Just a FYI for the future. When you shoot a reduced dose, the depot of the larger dose impacts the first part of the cycle of the reduced dose, and it could act like you hadn't shot a reduction. Turns out it was fine today, but if he's in lower preshots, it's something to think about.
