Are you following SLGS because you can't test enough for TR or is Thomas still getting some dry food? TR will be able to get him to a good dose sooner. If he is not eating any dry and you can get at least 1 test in every cycle (in addition to preshot tests), you could give TR a shot. You can always switch back to SLGS once he sees better numbers if you think TR is not for you.

With TR you can increase the dose as fast as every 3 days if the numbers require it.
 
I would love to see his dose changes be made faster (with TR protocol as Bhooma mentioned.) I’m concerned he’s gotten way too comfortable in these higher numbers.

Hi, I read this and then forgot to come back to it. I should be able to get another test in, especially if I can do it on Friday Saturday and Sunday. Monday -Thursday I leave 45 minutes after I give him his shot and sometimes I don't get back until 530. Depends on the day, but I cannot guarantee that I could do it everyday. Actually I was thinking about getting the Libre. I was reading that it would give readings throughout the day on my phone.
 
I was under the impression that I'd be able to view Basic's numbers while away from yhe house too. Unfortunately, you must be connected to the same wifi as the libre to read it continuously (libre 3). When you leave, you are no longer connected to the wifi. All other libres you need to scan in order to see the information. When you return home, you will be able to view all the information that it gathered while you were gone though. I wanted to give you the heads up. I'll rag @Staci & Ivy because I know she uses them. She may know some tricks to viewing data while away.

No, not true. A Libre 2 you cannot see on your phone .
***With the Libre 3 you scan the sensor with a dedicated phone for just the pet, leave the phone at home with them. Needs to be within 33 feet of them to get continual 24/7 readings. You then have the Libre Link Up on their phone and your phone....you then see the readings transmitted through the app on YOUR phone at all times 24/7.
If they stray away from the phone out of range...when they get back within range, the data links back up and you can see the numbers and graph again on your phone (and their phone as well).
 
I had a libre 3. I didn't have a dedicated device or a the link up app though nor did I know about either. You can view this information while outside of the home, but you need a specific device and app in order to do this? Is that correct, @Staci & Ivy ?

Correct. The cat needs a phone that stays home with them not your phone. :)
The at home kitty phone does not need a phone line and you’re not paying for service for the phone. It just needs to be on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
 
Thank you for clarifying this. I just wanted this individual to not be expecting what I was because without the steps you've provided, it isn't possible to view info outside of the home. I love that there is a way to get the data while you aren't at home though. Would be excellent if a CG had to have someone else care for the cat. Thanks again.

Exactly!! You can have multiple people receiving the data if you want.
 
Great info! I found someone selling some on Offer Up for $33 but they are already sold. I was thinking I could try it since it was cheaper. I will keep checking.

Do you mean the Libre? If so just get a prescription from your vet. Then look around for the best price. I am paying around $84 for 2 of the Freestyle Libre 3. My pharmacy applies the best discount they can find and that’s my cost. (Not much more than you mentioned) :)
