? Low PMPS, Token dose or no dose?

Dio's numbers are very low compared to his usual preshot values. I'm thinking skipping is the best option but wanted to see if anyone advises still giving a token dose? I have his Pet Control HQ numbers from the last few days at the bottom of his Libre spreadsheet until I can update it properly.

I also tested with an Alphatrak 3 that I have and they are reading approximately the same.

Sorry no one got back sooner. Did you feed him? Can you get another test now? If you shoot, can you monitor him? Was the 184 on the pet meter?

No worries! Yes I did feed him about an hour ago. I'll try and do another test but he's pretty squirmy tonight. I wouldn't be able to monitor through the night since I need to be up early tomorrow for work!
And yes it was taken on a pet meter.

If you can get another test, that will be great. Depending on his BG, you could either give the full shot or a token dose. With DKA kitties, a skip is not an option.

Lantus is actually very good at giving flat cycles when you shoot low. Dio has been seeing pretty flat cycles any way. Let's see where his BG is right now - if you can get a test.

If you aren't comfortable giving the full dose and you cannot monitor, how about a token dose of 1U?
You do want to get another test before bed, if you can...since you are shooting a lower preshot.

It takes time to get used to shooting low. With time you will get comfortable shooting lower and lower

We are 2.5 hrs past his reduced dose and now at 146. Thinking it's gonna be hard to sleep without doing at least one more test around his nadir. I'm glad for the lower numbers but I sure wish things like this would happen during the day!

146 is not much of a drop at +2.5. The previous depot (2U) continues to affect the first part of the cycle even if you give a token dose. Did he get some food at +2.5?
(They like to keep us up at night!)

That's reassuring! I did give him a bit of his favorite tiki cat food right after that test. Going to try and get a bit of sleep in and will update if anything happens through the night/early morning. Thanks for your help with this

Ok I'll get that fixed once I'm home tonight!

His AMPS had him at 353 so I think doing the full dose would have been ideal. Really glad I gave him at least the 1U though! Such a learning process this whole thing is.
