Numbers still not coming down :( ….but his appetite and demeanour are very good. Still waiting for that poop. Will try to get out today to buy pumpkin. He is also on retoralax.
He's been through so much in the last couple of day! It must be so difficult to be patient but you must be feeling some sort of relief that he's eating and acting like the HERMAN we know and love. :bighug::bighug: Now we wait for the Poop!

Yeah for poop! :bighug:
I'd hold the dose for now. You're only on cycle 2 on 1 unit after a bunch of missed shots and a very traumatic and painful experience .
So hard to see those numbers I’m afraid of a repeat on Christmas morning. But yes, I will be patient…
he’s been having frequent moments of playfulness and affection which settles me a bit…., but after he pooped this morning, I gave him another dose of gabapentin, even though he wasn’t showing any signs of pain, but I didn’t want to stop Zofran and gabapentin so close to one another… the gabapentin makes him very sleepy, but I don’t want any pain and inflammation getting out of hand.

Wishing so so hard for his numbers to get back down right now. I’m just so afraid he’s going to relapse!

Amy, I’m sorry to read that Herman had a pancreatitis flare up. Just keep doing what you are doing, and focus on the positives! He is eating nicely, and you are continuing pain management. Those BG values will come down. They are likely high in response to pain and inflammation.

Poop poop hooray!!! I’m so glad that dear Herman is feeling much more like himself again.:cat: The high numbers seem unsurprising in light of what he’s been through this week. I’d sit tight and see what happens. Just my two cents of course. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Just a thought - before Herman went to the ER vet, he had 9 cycles at 1.0 units - and it wasn't giving any joy. If his numbers continue to trend upwards, past any NDW which you could be seeing now, I'd think about that increase.

Hopefully he will settle in with the success at the litterbox but if not I think you have a good plan.
