Morning Alicia ,I hope Kit slides down to some nice blue and green , and Kit no repeat like last night's PMPS cycle , for tonight :cat:
Have a nice day Alicia :bighug::bighug:
Thanks Diane - she's definitely giving me some blues - maybe we'll even see greens. That big drop from +1 to +2 yesterday is what caused last night, I think. And then she did it again today. I'll have to play with carb percentages some more.

I just don't understand what her numbers are doing lately. We had pretty steady blues and greens, and then all of sudden, pinks and yellows all over. Are we just in cyclical bouncing? :banghead::banghead:

Also, our onsite management is out until Tuesday because of the holiday weekend, so we have no oven until maybe Tuesday.

Looks like a nice, low altitude in the blue.
Hope she gives you some nice greens too, Alicia.
I'm really curious how much the carb manipulation will change the BGs!
all of sudden, pinks and yellows all over.
Are her teeth okay and no sign of UTI? She was peeing in the strange places, I remember. Just a thought.

I hope too that Kit cat will cruise nicely today!

Hi Alicia, sorry about the no oven situation. Ugh. Never fun.
Guess you have to eat out or do take out. Bummer, lol.
I hope Kit settles down and gets back to her regular nice blue and green cycles.
Good suggestions by @Mikanmama to think about.
Safe surfing sweet Kit :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm having her vet take a look at her teeth at her next solensia shot appointment in January (she'll be dosed with gabapentin to keep her calm since it's also a claw trim day). We put off having a dental done this fall because of her age and because of how she reacted to coming out of anesthesia the previous year, but we may have to relook at it.
I'd also talked to her vet about her peeing, and she had mentioned getting Kit on antibiotics just in case of a UTI, but then she quit peeing outside the litter box. So I need to email her again and see if we want to go ahead and try it just in case. It's just a weird time because of the holiday weekend.

I can do stove top meals, but not having the oven is a bummer since that was used for the next few meals I had planned. I can pivot, and today I was able to pivot to chicken tacos in a crockpot (in my brand new crockpot I got from the bf for Christmas - he's a good egg most of the time lol). But some of it will need to be food out, so we'll have to plan to make sure places are open on New Years. Which is fine, I'm capable of pivoting and making do, it just feels like that's been my life at my job too for the last semester. C'est la vie, time to stop being a grumpy goose (or just go bury my nose in a book until I'm less grumpy).

I hope Ivy and Mikan are doing well! I haven't been great about paying attention to other conversations of late. And I hope you both have a good holiday!!

So, tonight Kit peed in the litter box, then peed on the brown paper, but struggled to do so, then pooped on the guest bed, then struggled to pee on new brown paper, and that continued for a bit. So I texted her vet, she is pretty sure it's a UTI, and since she's working tomorrow, she's gonna stop by with an antibiotic shot. Y'all, I am so dang happy I have a vet that A - does house calls, and B - checked her email at 8 pm on a Friday night of a holiday weekend, and offered to stop by in between appointments. She is amazing.

So, if her numbers have gone up because of the UTI, I definitely need to be monitoring as the antibiotics kick in, right? I'm crossing my fingers this helps her numbers get better.

So glad to hear your awesome vet is coming by today to check in Kit! Prayers that the antibiotics will clear up what’s going on and she returns to her regular, good, happy self!!
Wishing you all good health in the new year, the most important thing of all. You’re doing so great caring for Kit, Alicia :bighug::bighug::bighug:
