Hi Merry Christmas, May I please get some dosing advice ? Worried about high numbers . Thank you .

Today is day 5 on 2.25. With SLGS you do a curve on day 7 and decide if an increase is due the next day. Have a look at the methods sticky.

Yes I am aware of that . Could this dose still be good for him then ?My boys poor ears it is as if they are bothering him .

As of now an increase would be needed but that could change. From the dosing sticky:

After 1 week at a given dose perform a 12 hour curve, testing every 2 hours OR perform an 18 hour curve, testing every 3 hours. Note: Random spot checks are often helpful to "fill in the blanks" on kitty's spreadsheet. The goal is to learn how low the current dose is dropping kitty prior to making dose adjustments.
  • If nadirs are more than 150 mg/dl (8.3 mmol/L), increase the dose by 0.25 unit
  • If nadirs are between 90 (5 mmol/L) and 149 mg/dl (8.2 mmol/L), maintain the same dose
  • If nadirs are below 90 mg/dl (5mmol/L), decrease the dose by 0.25 unit

  • At this point the nadirs are over 150.

Thanks so much I hope you guys don’t mind me asking for dosing recommendations. When I could read the information myself but I just don’t fully trust myself .

Continue to ask all questions you have. There’s a steep learning curve with fd. Unless a reduction is earned you will always hold a dose for 7 days before considering an increased. The exception to waiting 7 days is if the bg drops under 90. That ALWAYS earns a reduction at the next shot and tge 7 day count starts over.

Don't be worried about asking the same questions over and over again. I posted a lot of "dose increase?" on my subject lines when I was new. And since Neko got to a higher dose, that was a LOT! :p Of course we are nervous about increasing, especially to a dose that's already seen a reduction.
