Help pls. Was I right to shoot? BG dropping.

Tiger was hungry and begging early. I decided to feed slightly early. Took a reading of 313 and fed 45 mins before shot.
Took reading at shot time and it had gone down to 218. I figured it was ok to give his insulin. Was I right? Why did it go down after food?

I think you’re fine . The Libre can be a bit fussy, I’ve seen other members have odd ranges between one reading to another as well. Sometimes while it’s nice to have the extras readings it can be hard to decipher a pattern with the Libre. Might be also a little bounce breaking from the blues yesterday so I’d suggest checking a few tests before bed is probably a good idea.

He ate a bit of food after his shot and went up a bit to 261, now an hour later it’s 225.

From your SS I see that next BG was 180. JUst wait and see what happens.

Can you also do ear pricks and a human meter\? I have found out that at hgh BGs the Libre can be significantly higher than Kubre. However, at low BGs the Libre can be lower.

I was caring for a diabetic cat till m9nday evening and on the day the L3 got as low as 83. I was at my home and could not do an ear prick test. With the L3 and another phone (only need wifi connection to the internet and not a cellular plan) one can monitor the L3 remotely.
I myself like the Libre curve vise the SSS sincewith the curve one can see how fast BG is changing.. If the Libre curces are tested one has to identivy the time when fed and shot.

Ty Larry. He got his pre bed snack and we went to bed. I stayed awake taking readings until it was back up to 307 at +6. Sorry I didn’t see your reply until just now. But made it with no low events.
