Hello!

So I was wondering if I should try a trial of no insulin just to see what would happen. I have held the drop dose awhile mainly cause he was seeing some blue.

He doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason to the numbers he throws. Sometimes he is green all day sometimes he gets a bit high in late afternoon most of the time though as long as he gets that +9 snack he will drop to greens. The highs he saw were mostly due to missed snacks or found it late and ate it anyway.

Some advice on what to do next...stay where we are or trial run?

Can you use an auto feeder to be sure he gets a +9 snack a.m. and p.m.? I’d like to see what his BG does if he consistently gets a +9 snack both cycles for a few days. Possible?

Can you also be sure and put in the remarks every time he gets a +9 snack? Thank you.
 
We have an autofeeder...and use it faithfully. Problem is sometimes if I'm not home in afternoon he won't wake up to eat...or he will wake up late and eat it anyway no matter the time.

Plus a second civvie cat with feeder that he has been known to steal hers and his.

I have been waking up for the overnight +9 and if I'm home in afternoon I make sure he gets his and only his.
 
I do want to clarify that I have no issue co tinting the drop dose. Just know there is no more dropping down from where we are at.

As far as noting in ss absolutely I can put in when he gets it. My only issue is if he gets it when I'm gone I have no way of knowing if he is getting it on time or late...or if he is also partaking civvies snack...:banghead:

Generally if his number is in the green or right on the edge of green I figure yep he got the +9 more or less on time. (Unless of course I'm home or the pm +9 which I now wake up to make sure he eats it.

As far as setting timer to go off to close his eating window if he doesnt get to it. Most of time I set up feeder for if I may be late coming from work. So I set up food for dh and he tests and does his shot fo4 me but I measure out food. So don't always have an open slot to program. I'm not trying to be difficult I promise. I'm trying my hardest to do what I know is best regardless of what that is. He runs this show I'm along for the ride;)

What type of auto feeder do you have,

Is it a rotating one that you can set for +9 and then have it rotate again to cover the food? It's what I did with my guy. I had a similar situation.

Perhaps you could isolate hi. From the other for a bit to gather the data?

He looks great, the worry is that taking him off might result in his dose climbing up. So everyone just wants to be sure.
