Good Sunday morning,
Amps 296
A high yellow start to today after a flat yellow pm cycle as she came down from an early bounce. Yesterday's am cycle was quite active and we spent some time in blue (verified on Contour meter) and green (Libre sensor).

Went out to dinner with DH last night and added some 9.25% to her regular 6% food to keep her from low dives. It seems to have worked. She stayed in 200s (not sure if from those carbs or from coming down from her high bounce).

Wonder what’s in store today. I’m making Ivy food, so busy in the kitchen today.

You are so good at using the carb% variations to manage her BGs! Good going :):):)
Mikan too started up at the high yellow - almost identical to Ivy's (are they conspiring again?)
Mikan is on her way down, not too extremely (knock on woods) and hopefully will get to beach today!
Let's have a beach date again!

Hi Kit, I’ve really just started to experiment with giving her a little boosted carbs so I can try to go out for a few hours. I’m not sure if it’s really the best thing for her, but otherwise I’m literally chained to the house.
And she seems to react pretty well to a slight elevation of carbs for a few hours. It doesn’t really seem to affect her cycle.
Who knows if I have any clue what I’m doing, I don’t think I do.

You have certainly had your share of activity this past week and I’m in awe of your great management of Mikan.
I hope you guys have an stress-free day today, if that’s possible with these drama queens.

Let’s do the beach again but no limes, please :banghead:

Happy to see Ivy coming off the red planet. It's too remote out there.
I hope she comes back to some calmer colours during the day. So far she's been doing so much better on this dose.

Hi Shelly, she’s already down to the blue planet and maybe heading for cool green colors today. I just gave her a smidge of 9.25% since she’s quickly lowering her numbers. Just wish she would learn slowly. I tell her “piano, piano” to use a little Italian with her. Lol.

I think we are headed for a repeat of yesterday. Seems to start around + 4 these days in her am cycle.
I may get nothing done around here today.

Okie dokie, Karolina. We may just settle for a day on the sand. At the moment she’s blue. So she may not dip her pink toe beans in the water. She will be winking at Nestle from her beach towel.

Hi Staci, I knew what you meant when you said this, I'm all Italian, are you?
Not a bad cycle today at all. I just love the pic of Ivy on her blanket . I just want to kiss that nose :p
I hope Ivy gives you some nice greens tonight ,but no lime greens .

Hi Diane, I knew you would understand my limited Italian. No, I’m not, but it’s my most favorite place I’ve ever visited. It’s the most magnificent country to see. Have you been there?
I can’t travel now due to Ivy’s condition, but I can dream, right?

So we are at +3
Bg is 245 on Libre
and Ivy‘s BG is starting to drop at onset now.
She looked nauseous to me and her feeder opened for her snack and she didn’t go near it. (That Never happens)
Then she puked a huge hairball and has no interest in food obviously.
Any suggestions on what I should do since she needs to get some food into her as her glucose is dropping at normal onset but clearly she’s nauseous from the huge hairball she just puked.

Should I give her some kind of anti-nausea med or should I just leave her alone or try to force feed a little bit of food if she continues to drop?
She’s drinking water now.
It’s always something. :(
EDIT: She just ate her snack so maybe she felt better about 30 minutes after her big barf. Hoping she keeps the food down.
Well that was scary since she was dropping and looked sadly at her food.

If you think she’s nauseous do you have any Ondansetron? That’s good for nausea. Cerenia is not as good for nausea but does help if she’s continuing to vomit. Maybe she was just nauseous because of the hairball? I’m glad you got her to eat something. It is scary when they are dropping and won’t eat, I can definitely relate to that. I keep some different kinds of catfood here to offer when that happens. I also have some Gerber baby food meats if all else fails. I hope she will settle down for you.:bighug:

Hi Lori, I do think it was the huge hairball that made her vomit. she actually did eat her snack so I feel a bit relieved.
I was most concerned since she was doing a drop in bg at just the time she was due to eat.
I do have Ondosteron and baby food too.

Thanks, Cecile. It was a scary moment. You know if they won’t eat it’s a problem!! Major hairball from that long hair she has. I think it was the biggest one I’ve ever see her puke up. Poor girl. :bighug:
