But I think he feels crappy is that normal as well ?It’s all expected. The combo of bouncing and skipping can keep him higher for 4-6 cycles but also can clear quickly. Take the rest of the day off and do something for you!
Otj ? Sorry don’t know what that stands forThat’s one of those ECOD, every cat is different. Think about how you feel when you have a sugar high. Some people have a reaction and others don’t. If he’s feeling crummy it will pass. The ups and downs are quite common for newly identified diabetics. As you gather data and he gets used to more normal bg you won’t need to skip and he won’t bounce as much hopefully. Some bounce all the way to going otj though.

Oh Thank you very much at least I k ow it’s normal . I can’t wait for him to show some progress. His body is going through a lot at the moment. All the highs and lows take a lot out of him. You'd feel unwell and probably tired as well.
When my kitty was first diagnosed he wasn't doing all that well either. Now that he's tightly regulated he's doing much better, he's more active and happy and it shows too.
It's a long journey that requires a LOT of patience but believe me it's worth it. Especially once they start to work the dose and you can see the progress.
We wish you well.

Thanks I so appreciate itThere’s a lot of information in the stickies at the top of this forum. I was overwhelmed at first. I’d suggest you start to read a little bit at a time and gradually this will all make sense. Feline diabetes is complicated, and much more so than for humans and dogs. But only cats can become diet controlled. It takes lots of patience. Max was diagnosed late 2013 and I’m still learning.![]()
Yes, I tried. Easy complete for my cat years ago But Bailie is so picky you wouldn’t believe it. He will not even eat chicken that I cook at all or even from a roast chicken or anything like that the only chicken he will eat is the freeze dry. He’s very strange Lol the other cats I used to have used to love chicken are used to practically open up the fridge to get it. Lol. Also, it’s a real chore to get him to eat any wet food at all. I put it out for every single meal tried a whole bunch of toppers first, I was kind of happy because he was eating a little bit of the seafood but now he’s doing turning his nose up at that but he is on Dr. Elsey’s. Which I don’t really want him to be on I would much prefer and beyond wet food believe me. I will keep trying.Keep trying to get him to eat low carb canned or raw food. Will he eat cooked plain chicken? If so you could make your own low carb food using EZ COMPLETE.
