We’ve settled in and Tilda seems happy to be back in the city.

I have had a big looming question for the past week: our upcoming trip. The pet sitter doesn’t know Tilda but is familiar with testing and insulin. He seems great and will be staying overnight but not all day. I don’t want to slow her progress at all… but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit wanting to use that week as an OTJ trial. I’m so worried about her not eating while I’m gone since I’ve been following her around with food if her numbers are lower. Is hypo less of a risk on .1U or drop? What do you all think? :bighug:

Hi Alli. Tilda is looking great. I'm happy to hear that the move went well. It can be so upsetting for the little ones. We just moved two months ago and I was so relived to see how Fistuk adjusted so well and quickly.

I think your next step as per TR is 0.1. How long will you be gone for? And when are you leaving? Perhaps you can consider whether to take the reduction before you leave so you have a chance to see how she's doing after the depo drains and it'll give you more confidence in making the decisions for when you're gone.

I too chance Fistuk and feeding him with a spoon but when I'm away he's eating very well for my husband or for a sitter (though I haven't had one for a while). Somtimes I'm wondering if he reserves all the show for me.... Maybe Tilda will eat well while you're away :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks! Yes it's looking like .1U for the next week, then a drop if she does well. The timing doesn't line up with OTJ (gone Dec 12-17) but I am a nervous wreck about leaving her. Perhaps you're right and she will eat well without my nervous energy pestering her haha!

Looks like Tilda is ready for her reduction tomorrow after a full week in greens :D.
It looks like your trip is about a week away. I'd ask this question again on 12/8 to see how she's doing on 0.1 before making a call on a drop dose or OTJ trial.

I also meant to ask, I'm at the end of the first pen-- Do I need to know anything about starting a new pen?
