Yesterday was her first day of no yellow - mostly in the low 100s with a few dips into the green.

At PMPS+3 her BG dipped to a low of 58 on the Libre. I have read that the meter can read a bit lower than reality but regardless I gave her a snack and a few treats, and got her back up into the 70s. She seems to nadir late in the AM and early in the PM - usually around AMPS+8, give or take a few hours depending on the day. In the PM it seems to hit right around +3. I do feed her the low phos Weruva in the evening rather than the canned BFF so maybe that's the difference.

Regardless I will monitor her today to see how things are going. Our meter was supposed to come yesterday, but it seems that the slew of black Friday packages has delayed that to at least today, maybe tomorrow.

The +8 hour rears its ugly head. I just got a 53 on the Libre... she's got a half can of food and she's now up to 70. So out of the danger zone for now, and if history is any guide, she should be fine.

TR would say I give the same dose tonight... but I am wondering if that's what I should actually do? She would have likely dipped below 50 if I didn't get the food in there when I did. She's been on half a unit for about a week now - 13 cycles, and I am wondering if moving down to a quarter unit is the right call.

Hi Mike, you may want to tag an admin or put a question in your title to get some attention. Maybe @tiffmaxee can weigh in on dosing???

As for the Libre, I use one on my Ivy. If she’s in the low 50s or below, I test her with an ear prick and use a handheld meter to confirm her numbers.
You are correct, the Libre does read somewhat lower in the low numbers than a handheld meter.

I pick our Libres up at a local pharmacy.
Hope this helps.
Great job with Sally! :cat:

Thanks Staci! :)

I have to get used to seeing the low numbers. She's back up at 148 at PMPS so I am comfortable giving the 0.5U shot. 53 was the lowest I had seen... and with her overall downward trend, was thinking it might be time to adjust the dose. But let's see what she looks like in a few hours.

We have a saying here - if you didn't see it, it didn't happen. Next time you see a number in the 50's on the Libre, you might want to test Sally with a BG meter if you have one as backup. As Staci has seen on her Libre and hand held meter (and as shown in Ivy's spreadsheet), you'll see some examples where the Libre 40's and 50's were 90's or 100+ on the handheld meter when tested at the same time. Not saying it'll be the same for you, but definitely worth some testing to see what those Libre 50's really are.

My Neko was a late nadir kitty too. It helps you get used to shooting lower numbers.
