So I’m back….
After having to go out of the country for 2 weeks (hence the gap in Fred’s SS) & then coming home and figuring out my fathers been secretly giving Fred dry food during the very early morning hours this ENTIRE time since Fred’s diagnosis I feel like I’ve been back to square one

Was nervous about keeping him at 4.25 units because I wasn’t sure how he would react without that extra food but I’ve went ahead and stuck to it.

Happy to say his numbers have been making me feel way better so far.

Here’s to progress :bighug:
I’ll start posting regularly now that I feel like things are under control again :joyful:

Welcome back home. Sorry to hear that Fred has been able get your father to give him extra good snacks. Time to hide the dry food back, or throw it out. Fred's numbers are looking better now. Have you been spot checking any of those low Libre numbers with the OneTouch? We often see the Libre numbers register lower than with a hand held meter. I suspect Fred needs an increase. He's been on this dose too long and he's not where he should be.

I know Fred’s not happy about that :p

I do do spot checks, especially when his libre app starts alarming because that’s when I get nervous even though i know by now it’s not truly that low. And of course it’s always early morning when it happens lol. I usually write the spot check number in his SS unless it’s at a weird in between time that I’m checking.

So last nights spot checks were:
12:00am (+2) 117
12:20am (+2.5) 112
1:20am (+3) 77
3:00am (+5) 75

I suspect his nadir was a little lower than this at one point even between 1 & 3am, I just hate poking him so much :blackeye:

so does this still call for an upped dose? I was a little confused because what I was understanding was if his nadir was under 100 you keep that dose?

What nadir should I be aiming for? I know it calls for a decrease if he hits 50 so I should be aiming for that?

Ideally you'd like the nadirs (note the plural) in the 50-80 range. If nadirs are under 100, you keep that dose for 10 cycles or 5 days.
