Hi. Spot is still dipping his toes in yellow. Very stubborn bg:banghead::banghead:
He got a little lower yellow but staying in pinks most of time. Going up to 6 units next.
Fleas, will fleas make bg go up?? Annette realized he has fleas & is getting meds for that.
she also got the bloodwork from june.
We were wondering if thyroid was checked. Not sure if acromegaly shows in this bloodwork but most of his bg is better than my cats so I am clueless.
I am trying to share it here, it was a fax link so hope it works. If not let me know & I will try to take a picture & post it.
When should we worry about acromegaly or IAA or the other stuff that keeps bg up?

6 units is the point at which we suggest testing for acromegaly (IGF-1 test) and insulin auto antibodies (IAA test). Both are add on blood work tests, and the blood must be sent to Michigan State University. MSU is the only place in North America that does this test. The 6 units isn't to say that all cats with these conditions need 6+ units of insulin, cause we've had some on less, just that once they get to 6 units and are eating low carb food, the chances are quite high that one of those tests will be positive.

In future, I wouldn't hold doses getting only brief flashes of yellow for as long as she has been. With insulin resistance, you have to be a bit more aggressive to get ahead of the resistance.

Fleas are not the reason he needs 6+ units of insulin. Any irritation from fleas might make a small bump in numbers, but not what Spot is seeing.

Blood work looks decent for a diabetic, the expected things are high, everything else is in range. There is a Labs tab on the spreadsheet if she wants to enter data there. I found that useful for tracking trends between blood work tests.

@Wendy&Neko ,
Replying here so you know what you already wrote. Annette asked her vet & they said they dont do that.
i gave her the info you gave me but is there a website with the info to make it easy for them or a contact place?
This vet seems to not like to do what may require some effort.
Thanks
