I think I will have to miss my son's musical :( I don't feel it would be sae to leave her for 3 hours. I can go, come back, test and feed her, and go back, maybe. He plays in pit and I don't want to miss the beginning and end, he has solos!

How long before you have to leave?

So you confirm she got a reduction even being a long-term diabetic? I was going to ask, and I am glad I did not increase as I almost did a few days ago.

We're LTD (long term diabetic) too :p

Yes any BG under 40 is a reduction of 0.25.

What a relief! How was your son's musical?
It was great today! It was the last show, they had a lot of energy. He plays trumpet in pit, it was pop music (Emma is the musical), very fun :-)
Yesterday he had 2 concerts plus the musical, now he's at a rehearsal for another ensemble he's in. I bet he will be as exhausted as Bella tonight, that was quite a full weekend.

127 @+4. I'm going to bed now. Today was stressful! She looks completely fine, but she scared me. The only weird thing she was doing when she was so low was to meow a lot, the kids were with her but did not think anything of it. Apparently she kept trying to get on the counter and was super loud.

I’m sorry I missed all the drama yesterday. I’m glad you got to see your son do his thing in pit.
And I’m also so glad that Bella did OK, but that was very dicey for a while and you did great handling Cecil.
I hope she doesn’t go that low again for you. That was very scary:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Staci! That was only the second time she went so low. The first time she did I had no clue what I was doing, the vet did not give me clear instructions either, so this time was scarier. But I felt it afterwards, at the time I was calm and knew what to do.

I understand totally, Cecile. The vet I was working with last year when Ivy was diagnosed told me absolutely nothing about what to do.
I told her I wanted to home test and she told me that was not necessary and if I insisted once a week would be fine. Like huh?
I had to figure everything out on my own and that’s how I landed here.
And when I asked her how to know how to give an insulin injection, she told me to google it, and find a video.
Needless to say I’ve been to two different vets since her lack of instructions, plus an internist and found myself a nutritionist.

At least mine showed me how to test and give an injection, but she said a curve day each week was plenty. But at the same time to watch for hypos. How??? I landed here because I was searching how to test, because I kept missing, and I was crying, literally, because I could not get blood, and I felt so bad. I liked her a lot (my vet), and she herself admitted that she did not know much about diabetes, but then she learned more. I was sad when she retired. The new one I have is fine, but she seems to think I am a little bit crazy with all the testing.

Same with the crying. I felt so terrified and clueless (still am). But at least I can test (and install a Libre also). Things I thought I could never do! Look at us :bighug::bighug:
The things we do for our girls!
