Hey everyone!

I took Nao to the vet this afternoon (hence this lovely PMPS ) because he has a swollen lip since Tuesday and it's not getting better. We're not really sure what could it be, me and the vet included.
It could be an allergy or and abscess that's forming.

So the vet wants to treat it with prednisone, because she thinks that an antihistamine won't do much. She did mention that we could switch to one once the swelling goes down, but she wants to treat that first.

I'm aware that prednisone could cause the BG to rise. He will only be on it for like 3 days, but would it be okay if I go back to 0.25U just in case?
I plan to start the treatment tomorrow.

I'm going to tag @tiffmaxee and @Wendy&Neko for their advice on whether pred is required.

And yes, it makes sense to go up to 0.25U. His numbers have been higher for the last few days - probably because of the lip.

First of all, any prescription should be for prednisolone, not prednisone. As for whether it's required, I can't say. I would go by what the vet who has had eyes on the cat said.
