Been a while since I posted, so I thought I'd check in. We've spent the past several weeks ramping up the dose, eventually getting up to 4.75 U. Now it looks like his pancreas is waking up from its nice nap, and we're on a pretty steep downward slope again. The usual Oberon roller coaster. At the moment he just hit greens again even after a skipped dose last night. Cat on a mission, it seems...

Oh, and an Ariel update: she had her 3 month checkup post-thyroid treatment, and everything is looking good so far. T4 is normal and TSH is nearly normal. Renal values are ok, but the RenalTech predictor suggests she may be on track to develop kidney disease in the next couple of years (not surprising for a 14 year old cat). Keeping an eye on that.

Welcome back! I see Oberon is keeping you on your toes, as usual.

Good to hear that Ariel's treatment is looking good so far. I imagine she's feeling much better as a result.

Good grief, I think we're heading for another skip. At the very least I'll have to stall by an hour now, since I just threw more carbs at him.

+14 and he's still in the 40s. I'm starting to wonder if tomorrow's dose should drop down to 3.5 instead of 3.75. He hasn't even gotten the depot stable at the past couple of doses (4.25 and 4) before blowing right past them.

Maybe I'll see what he does overnight. If he starts to finally really climb, stick with 3.75. But if he keeps this up, 3.5 or even just a BCS (2 U?) to drain the depot some more. Never a dull moment...
