Happy Caturday,
Amps 233
Yesterday mostly Flat yellow, no blues :(

Thinking about an increase for tomorrow, since we’ve been at 2.75 u for a week on SLGS. I’ve only seen a few dips down to the 90-149 range. (Numbers on SS past week are on Libre but I only see a few that range. She never went low enough for me to cross check any concerning lows).
@tiffmaxee
@Wendy&Neko
@Angela & Cleo

Any thoughts about going to 3 units Tomorrow? (At that dose she previously saw lots of action and then quickly earned multiple reductions back to back, I think because of full depots which kept knocking her down the dosing ladder. (It was also before I lowered her carbs to 6%, where they are now.)

Have a nice weekend everyone and safe surfing to all our cats :bighug::cat::bighug:

I would say to increase tomorrow, but that's me (without true SLGS experience). I think she needs more time in good numbers to steady out a bit and that increase can do that for her. Maybe the multiple reductions last time (because of the depot) should've been delayed? I'm not sure. Ivy sure is one of a kind and maybe needs a slightly custom/altered plan to reduce if that happens again. I'm sure someone can chime in. :bighug:

Hi Staci,
I can relate to the depot dump, Sly was performing the same way in the beginning.. Dipping low when the depot emptied and then trending higher after on the same dose.
I agree with @allicatmeow , I would go up to 3, but see what the more experienced members say.

Thanks @allicatmeow and @Deb and Sylvester for your thoughts. I guess I need some guidance in a custom dosing plan If she drops like that and that still full depot causing further lows and more reductions.
It’s a delicate balance and I need some advice on how to handle before it happens. It’s better to have a plan.
Plus, her 6% food doesn’t bring her up if she drops low. So I have to be prepared on how to pull her up if needed.
She’s a challenge! :bighug::bighug:

Good morning Ivy!
Nice start of the weekend :)
Likely, she will benefit from the increase.
Good luck if you decide to go for it!
Ivy, the threat is out! :bighug:
lol, @Mikanmama and @Angela & Cleo
So she must’ve heard the threat and me discussing it with the posse because at +2.75 She’s in lower blues around 120 on her Libre, so that’s certainly some progress, more than she’s had in a few days. Looks like she’s on a downward trend.
Guess she doesn’t want an increase, but we’ll see where the day takes us. :p :bighug::bighug:

Morning Staci, Ivy sure must have heard that threat 104 @+3 already.
Let's see what she does for the rest of the day.
Have a nice day Staci :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:
I do think she heard, Diane. She decided to shake up the morning with some much nicer numbers. She came down to 65 on her Libre, which is most likely around 120 on a handheld meter. I like that much better than 200 or 300s!
I hope you have a relaxing weekend! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Update:, Ivy did dip down this morning, the lowest was around +4 to 65 on her Libre sensor, (which is probably around 120 on a handheld meter).
It seemed like she was definitely wanting to go lower today.
It’s +5.5 now and she’s at 124 on Libre, looks like heading up in a bounce.

Not sure if that dip was a one off or if I should hold the dose tomorrow or give her an increase. Will also see what the afternoon and tonight brings as well.

Definitely bouncing up after this am lower bgs in her cycle. At +8.75 she’s 292 on the Libre.
Do I increase in thr
See if Ivy responds to your threat :cat:.
So she did respond and go lower today, but she’s bouncing back up Angela. If she doesn’t earn a reduction tonight, do you think I should increase her dose?

Any chance you got a test with the Contour when she was lower today? If not, what is your reduction point with numbers on the Libre?

She's gotten to 58 and into the 70's on this dose recently, so today isn't a one off.

I did not do an ear prick today. I normally wait until she’s lower, like under 50, or it doesn’t test under 100 on the Contour.

I only use a reduction point on the Contour when I see it’s under 90, confirmed with a blood test.

Pmps 295
Earlier today gave small snacks of 9.25% mixed with 6%. One time when she hit her lowest at +4 of 65 on Libre, fed 1/4 tsp of 12.5% to keep her from tanking. Trying to hold this dose at least.

Still not sure if I should increase tomorrow morning. o_O

I have a hard time answering the dose increase question without BG numbers. With SLGS you increase if nadirs (plural) are not in the 90-149 region on a human BG meter.

I understand your hesitation. My question is that if she’s only in that range a few times in a week with SLGS, is that enough to hold the dose. Or, should I increase?

What do you think she needs? You've had the Libre since mid February, so you've got almost 9 months of data with it and have done increases and decreases since then. You should have a good idea what works for Ivy.

I’m actually not sure. When I take her up to around 3 units it seems to really rock her and then she quickly goes down the dosing ladder again. That’s my hesitation because I don’t want to have to go through that again.
It seems like we just backtrack, but I don’t want her stuck in glucose toxicity, so I’m really not sure what to do.
All of a sudden today she seems to really be seeing a lot of action on this dose at day 7.
I’m thinking maybe I should hold the dose but then she’ll probably bounce from this action.
Can you see that I am conflicted???

Been 6 weeks since you last gave 3 units, that's practically a lifetime in FD. Dose needs can change over time. When last on 3 units, she only got down to the 70's on the Contour, which isn't super low. What some people do who are following SLGS, once they have the data to safely do so, is lower the reduction point. How would you feel about lowering it to 80 on the Contour? That might slow the number of times you have to do back to back reductions.

Curious to see where tonight goes, now that we are talking about increasing. Ivy is listening. :)

Yes I see her low was in the 70s on the Contour on 3 units, then I reduced dose since under 90.
So do you think I should take her up to 3 with an 80 reduction point then and try that? (Unless she goes super low tonight, since you know who is listening). Big ears on a furry kitty. :rolleyes:
