I didn't give him insulin, not sure if it was too low but he hadnt eaten yet when i took it. is it normally supposed to be this low for the AMPS because i noticed my PMPS was higher.
Have you fed yet? Can you get another test?I didn't give him insulin, not sure if it was too low but he hadnt eaten yet when i took it. is it normally supposed to be this low for the AMPS because i noticed my PMPS was higher.
It is 8.2 after eating, he didnt finish all his food at once thoughHave you fed yet? Can you get another test?
yes we switched to lowcarb a around two weeks ago. We give his shot while/after he eats so he definitely had food in him. his food bowl was empty this morning too so i am 100% sure he ate.Was he recently switched to a low carb diet? If yes, how many days back?
And did he get food last night after his shot? Numbers can keep dropping without food.
yes we do, we also have honey aswellDo you have medium carb and high carb food? Can you monitor closely if you shoot?
he's almost finished his food by now, he's eating normally!! will update with bg in a little bitMaybe start with a +2ish?
I'd offer some food, a teaspoon or two , to get him to eat a bit.
This is 2 hours after the shot? Give him some MC.95 now, should I give him the med/high carb food? or should I wait and test again in another hour?
yes 2 hours, gave it to him immediately. Gonna check again soonThis is 2 hours after the shot? Give him some MC.
Go easy on the carbs and honey. Normally you reach for honey when you find that high carb food isn't enough to bring numbers up. He flattened out between +2 and +3 with MC, so you didn't need more carbs.+3 90, gave some more med cal wet food and a 1/4 of a teaspoon of honey.
oh alright thanksGo easy on the carbs and honey. Normally you reach for honey when you find that high carb food isn't enough to bring numbers up. He flattened out between +2 and +3 with MC, so you didn't need more carbs.Greens can be very scary at first, but they're the range in which the pancreas heal.
When a cat spends time in the normal range on insulin, the pancreas get a break (since the insulin is doing the work) and get a chance to heal and for the beta cells to recover/regenerate.what does the pancreas thing mean?
