Happy Halloween, spooky friends!!

I am happy to announce that when I got home yesterday, Cooper had not only eaten all of his breakfast--he licked the bowl clean! Then for dinner, he finished the whole plate!

What, you ask, has made this seemingly miraculous difference? Pray tell, you say, what apparently healed the prince of his ailment. Dear friends, it is with vast embarrassment that I must tell you that I decided to give him a full pill of the ondansetron instead of half yesterday morning on a whim. It could be a coincidence, certainly...but more than likely, it is what has helped him.

So the cure was that I got a brain essentially LOL.

For real though, I don't know why I thought I needed to "work my way up" to a full dose of the ondansetron? I kept telling myself I'd start "working my way up" on a day I had time, but I literally have no idea where I got that from. So yesterday morning I said, you know what, just give him the full pill and see how he does. Well, the answer is he does really well.

Now I will say that I did syringe feed him a little bit last night and this morning, but for the most part he has eaten all on his own. He didn't mind the syringe feeding, he started to actually just lick it off of my finger after awhile. Thank you all SO much for the encouragement with that! Again, you guys are so kind!

I hope you all have a wonderfully spooky Halloween for those that celebrate! For those that don't, I hope your Tuesday is still magical! :cat:

Love love this report Gabrielle!!! Magical for sure.
Best news to hear Cooper is eating well and maybe it was a dosing issue. Great call. Great trying something else.
Have a magical Halloween filled with Cooper eating happily all the kitty treats on his own (his meals of course)!!
Big hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much! I hope it will last, fingers crossed! For Halloween Cooper can be a hungry hippo :p

Such joyful news :joyful::joyful::joyful: I can imagine your relief!
It's wonderful also to hear Cooper is happy with syringe feeding, just in case, just if you wanted to help him gain some weight as well.

It's great you gave a high Onda dose. With Fistuk it didn't help much but it was just enough to get us by and avoid ketones.

Oh my heart is full knowing Cooper is better. Wishing you a wonderful Hallowcqueen :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am hoping that is what helped and that it will last! We shall see. For now, I'm going to take what I can get lol! But yes, at least I have the syringe feeding as a backup now! :)

Glad to hear the full dose of ondansetron worked for Cooper. :) How often are you giving it now per day?

Time to flatten out and surf now Cooper. :D

So you could still give it up to 4 times per day if he needs more of a boost.

Ah, okay! I couldn't find the post where you broke down the mg per kg of cat, so I was just basing it off the prescription bottle and thought it was the probably same. Good to know that I can give more if need be! :)

0.5-1.0 mg/kg of cat, up to 4 times per day. That's for the pill version, injectible is different dosing.
