Good morning,
Amps 289
+1.25 263

Gave an increase this am to 2.5u Lantus. Would like to see some lower bg overall. Hope this will help.
Yesterday she was still licking her side constantly but I put the cone of shame e-collar on her overnight to give it a rest.
Took collar off this am to feed and she’s sleeping peacefully after her meal. I’ll give her a break from the cone as long as she’s not licking but will reapply it if she starts up again.
Maybe she needs to wear it for a few days to break the cycle. I’m at a loss so need to try something different :(

Have a peaceful Sunday with no drama :cat:

Have a good day Staci! Overall, I think Ivy is doing much better!

I think so much of getting them steady, is their bodies adjusting to the lower numbers. We just have to do what they tell us!!

Hi Deb, thanks for your feedback. That’s so helpful. I do hope she is improving over time. It seems like such a yo-yo of progress and then none.
Trying to keep the faith.
Hope you and sweet Sly have a safe and peaceful day :bighug::bighug:

They change and so do the requirements. I keep reminding myself. I mean, Sly coasted down to 1 unit and now we're back to 2.5

I can't be mad, it is what it is. We just let their numbers guide us.

HI Staci!
Her cycles are getting overall better, for sure.
Good luck with the increase, it should give her a little extra push!
Happy Sunday to you and sweet Ivy :bighug:
I hope they are improving Kit. It doesn’t really feel like they are to me. Hoping for some gentle nudge here.

Have a calm Sunday with your sweet girl

Hi Staci, Good luck with the increase. I once lived with a kitty that was not only licking excessively but also biting himself. It turned out he may have had what's called hyperesthesia, which is abnormally increased sensitivity of the skin when it isn't dermatitis associated with flea allergy. it can also be caused by food allergies or, in the case of my kitty back in the day, hyperthryoidism. Not sure if this pertains at all to Ivy, but just a thought.

Thanks for the information, Jodey. (As Staci hits her head against a wall, sigh). One more avenue to explore.
Ivy has been licking on and off I would say for the last five months. She was doing it before she broke her leg but then we had an E collar on her so she couldn’t lick her leg incision, so she stopped with the excessive, licking only because she could access any Fur. Once we took the collar off, I noticed she started doing it again. Then we put her on antihistamine and a few other things and she stopped.
Then she started again about two weeks ago and seems to be concentrating on a spot where a libre was taken off and looked a little bit red, so maybe there seems to have been some skin irritation in that spot but she’s continued doing it.
So I’m trying to figure out which came first the chicken or the egg, but ultimately we may need yet another appointment with the vet. I did have the vet take a good look at her about a month ago and she concluded it was not fleas.
There was absolutely no evidence of fleas on her
But lots to try to figure out as usual. Thanks again for the information I appreciate it :bighug::bighug:
