Big pink bounce after the drop to 95 on Libre last night at around +5. We had a small pj party for a while then bounced to yellow then pink overnight.

Still itching on 1 side. Upped her dose of chlorepheniramine to 2x a day, will see if that helps. (If not will switch to zyrtec instead.)
Also applying calandula cream to see if that helps.
Ordered Animax ointment to try but doc said it’s a steroid so that can affect insulin resistance, to use sparingly.

Let’s see what today brings.

Great job last night!
Even though she came back up (darn trampoline :spam:), having a green helps her body get used to the good BG numbers.
(that's what I tell myself all the time, every time Mikan uses her trampoline)
She'll do it again soon!

I keep repeating that mantra too, but here we are. Still bouncing ….slow and steady I guess. Have a calm Saturday, Kit :bighug:

I honestly never thought the Animax had an impact on my last sugar cat, but I can understand erring on the side of caution.

You can probably try bacitracin if you think there's an infection. As long as she can't lick the spot. As for the itching, it's difficult to know what's going to work for a cat.

Hope Ivy comes down for you soon, looking good on those nadirs!!:D:bighug:

Hi Deb, problem is she can reach the area so I need to use something that if she licks it, there’s no problem. She is able to reach the area and licks and bites the tee shirt. (Think Swiss cheese)

I agree the nadirs are better, just not great. We may need an increase in the next few days.

Just looked it up
Animax® is a topical ointment used commonly in the veterinary field. It is made up of a combination of medications: nystatin (antifungal), neomycin (antibiotic), thiostrepton (antimicrobial), and triamcinolone (steroid).

I thought cats couldn't have bacitracin??
 
Hi Staci. Nice to see Ivy gave you some green again. Did you go to the vet eventually to check the itching?

Hi Shelly, no I didn’t go to see the vet. I’m hoping we can get her to stop with med changes or topical meds.
It’s such an ordeal for a vet visit. I have to sedate her the night before and morning before a visit. So if I can avoid it I’d like to.
