Good morning, and happy Wednesday!

So far Cooper's BG hasn't shot up as much as I had feared on this lowered dose, at least not yet. Fingers crossed he doesn't go too high!

Last night Cooper was in good spirits and acting like his old self! It made me realize just how different he's been acting. He was incessantly meowing and trying to eat his brother's food, just like old times LOL. He ate his dinner immediately. This morning, no drooling, but he isn't keen to eat breakfast. He did pick off the freeze-dried chicken topper though.

The vet did end up giving me ondansetron! I had to go get the written prescription after work, so by the time I got the pharmacy, it was too late for me to have it filled same day. I'll be picking it up today though.

Glad to hear Cooper was frisky last night, I'm so glad you got the ondansetron.
I've never had to use it so if you have any questions about the dose and how often to give you can always tag one of the experts :bighug::bighug::cat:

Hi Gabrielle, so glad Cooper is feeling frisky. Good signs of course. Hoping he doesn’t need the meds but good to have on hand if needed!
Have a great day :bighug:

Hi Gabrielle, you posted late (for me) so I missed seeing this last night. I'm glad the vet gave you ondansetron.
It can be given three times a day (every 8 hours) if needed.
Let us know the dose he has prescribed, and also if you can tell us Copper's weight, we can check that the dose is OK.
It is good to see he is managing to stay in mostly blue BGs with the reduction, but the depot could still be playing a part. Once he starts eating again we will probably have to increase the dose. We don't want him getting glucose toxicity.

Thank you!! This week has been awful. I didn't even get to the pharmacy today. No drooling today, so not sure if he was still nauseous or not. He didn't eat breakfast until I caved and pulled out the baby food. I can't tell if half of the issue is simply pickyness lol.

I'll have to check the dose the vet wrote out once I get it back because I can't remember exactly.

Definitely don't want glucose toxicity. I hope he doesn't get out his trampoline any time soon!

Cats are great at hiding their health issues.

Very true. I'm upset I wasn't able to get it today since it seems to be worse for him in the morning. I'm hoping the Cerenia has been giving him some relief now that I've been giving it every day rather than every other day. I'll likely give the ondansetron tomorrow night once I get it so that maybe the next morning it will have already started helping!
