I currently don’t have a glucometer and am hoping to get one soon. The one I was going to use isn’t working. he has had his blood drawn only at the vet and will have a blood draw next week. The vet would suggest changes after draws. I was hoping to check him before he goes to the vet to compare. I’m not happy with his lack of progress and plan on asking about switching to a different insulin ( he’s on Vetsulin now) to see if that helps. Before he changes over and I get the new meter, I will learn how to dose him.I see you’re not consistently testing before each shot, which is important, so you know if it’s safe to shoot. He’s on a very high dose and there have been some big and fast increases. I see he’s an actor kitty. Can you please tell us how you’re adjusting the dose?
Well done reading and learning. Have your list of questions for the vet and don’t let him/her fob you off.Trust me, my list of questions is a mile long for the vet. Since I found this forum I am learning so much of what I should have been doing. I’m a bit overwhelmed.

Definitely ask for a better insulin than vetsulin…either Lantus or Prozinc.
