Good morning :bighug:

Phew. What a day it was yesterday.

We're in the new house. Fistuk and Prince (and myself I might add) look a bit lost. It must have been quite disorienting for Fistuk to come fro the hospital to a new place.

When I brought him last night he ate with great pleasure. He got Cerenia SQ in the early morning when I brought him in.

This morning he etas but it's quite obv now that he has nausea. He wants to eat but after few bites he's moving back, licking his lips and sitting hunched back. I started 2mg Onda and will give every 8 hours. But I need to find alternatives because the previous time I used it it just didn't make a difference to his nausea.

The sad thing is that previously I could at least feed him early with a syringe, nor he rejects it. When he eats he eats from the plate or a spoon but he eats few licks at a type. It'll take me ages to feed him.

He hasn't been to the toilet since we've come here last night .Neither pee or poo. He sat by the toilet few times. quite clear he wants something off his chest.

I wanted to touch base and will now continue to go over all your very helpful notes so I can be prepared for my call with the vet. There are many things and lab indicators that are simply chinese for me so it hard to ask questions where I don't know what I'm asking for and about.

I think the first this is to get a clearer picture as to why she's concluding early signs of CKD when his kidney values are ok. BUN has gone down as well. But neutrophils are quite up. These are couple of things I just remember some of you mentioned as things to look at and understand why.

I'll give a shout out when I've fisnihed to fill in the labs. Some of them are already in.

Thank you fro the bottom of my heart for all the eyes on my posts, the prayers, the good wishes, the info. It all gave me strength and encouragement. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I suspect she may be looking at the SDMA reading, of 15.2. Over 14 is abnormal.

It is thought to be very reliable indicator of early kidney disease when it first came out as a test. However, it can be affected by dehydration.
The SG test I think showed he wasn't concentrating his urine, thos happens I ckd, however, you have been giving sq and perhaps that has influenced that result.

What I keep on getting so far is that it's so inconclusive ro say CKD bc he does receive SQ daily, and he was a bit dehydrated prob bc of the soft stool and his kidney values were ok (the vet said) and .... So Perhaps I need to get hid bowls and the infection under control first, shift to CKD food just to be in the safe side, and once the inflammation has reduced and his guts are ok I can check again?

I suspect his BG will show stress for the day and make PM cycle.
I'm also wondering if the Preentreic has already inflated his BG (given last night and this morning)

Absolutely you need to check again.
The food I recommended is not ckd specific/therapeutic but it has lower phosphorus than some others I made the switch when Georges results were inconclusive, to slow progression I made that change 6 or 7years ago. (He's 24 now)

Do there's no reason to wait for a positive ckd diagnosis if you wanted to make a preenptive change.

However with his gastric problems you might want to resolve that first.

Hi Shelly, glad you are all home. I hope you all settle into the new home well. Sending you hugs & support for dear Fistuk and that he feels much better soon! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending you heartful :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thank you, Kit. I'm proud of how he was coming from the hospital to a new place. Not easy but he braved it :bighug:

Good afternoon to you :) I'm glad the move is done, I know you probably still have a lot to unpack and put away, but that part at least is behind you.
:bighug:
Hi, Cecile. Yesterday our great friend here who's also called Cecile helped us to finish the move :joyful: It took us two day and Robert is doing the last things today. I can't even begin to think about unpacking. just put a table and sits in the balcony to enjoy the good weather we're still having. Snow is not far... :bighug::bighug::bighug:
