Hi, I'm delayed in reaching out. We completed a week of giving Bugs a +9PMPS snack versus a+7, September 2nd thru 8th. Her BG levels trended up a bit. Currently we are back on the +7PMPS schedule for her snack. She seems a bit happier with this schedule, less nighttime meowing.

Her spreadsheet is current and the comments will reflect the +9 snack period. Should we make any other adjustments to what we are doing for Bugs?

As always, Thank You!

Any chance of doing a curve soon? It's really hard to say what to do with no mid cycle tests the last couple weeks.

Her AMPS numbers actually looked much better with the +9 snack, and worse now that you've gone to the +7 one. Can you do +9 both AM and PM cycles?

@Wendy&Neko Good Morning.

Good Morning @Wendy&Neko

Prior to doing the +9 snack we were doing a +7 for quite a few months. Her numbers were more consistent, in the greens prior to the recommendation of the +9. Sorry if that info was missed, I just noticed her +7 PMPS was not reflected in the comments. Her +7 seemed to be working pretty well for her. Also the +9 snack in the evening is a bit more challenging for us to maintain due to getting up at 4:30am for work.

Bugs does get a +9 meal in the day as well. She generally eats about every 2 to 2.5 hours throughout the day.

We can do a curve again if needed since the last curve was towards the end of August. At that time we went with the every 3 hours testing (trying not to poke the ears more than we need to). Should we do that schedule again or do every 2 hours?
Thanks so much! Always appreciate your advice. :cat:

Your spreadsheet shows the +9 snack from September 2-9th, then you switched to +7 snack. Her AMPS numbers were much better the week of September 2-9th. Later they were "more consistent", but more consistently higher. We typically don't look much further back than a couple weeks, because insulin needs can change over time. Glad to hear she's getting a +9 during the day. That doesn't seem to be doing as much for her.

When following SLGS, the minimum is a curve every week. I have no clue how low this dose is taking her now. In the past, we have seen a kitty hypo on a 0.1 unit dose, so I wouldn't get complacent just because her dose is low. A curve every 3 hours for 18 hours is fine, though maybe mix it up a bit this time and do +2, +5, and +8. Though you can actually stop testing when you see her numbers rising significantly. August 25th PM, you could have stopped at +7.

Thanks for the additional information. We will do a curve this week and reach out after.

As far as the + 9 I think I was confused. I thought we were to do for a week and evaluate again after. Sorry about that.

@Wendy&Neko Morning, we completed the curve for Bugs. Her spreadsheet is current. If you could please take a look and let me know if we should adjust anything. Her AMPS was a bit higher at 133. She did get +8PMPS snack instead of a +7 since we had to get up to test.
Thanks!
