Very upset to have noticed my 15 year old male cat drinking a lot today, checked his bg and sitting at 200 after not eating all day. I have been checking him every other month the last two years and he was always about 70.

Not sure where to go from here/how to think. Could this be a one off? Or does the excess thirst suggest he has been high for awhile?

Very careful control with lantus and tapering got him from 360+ bgs to complete remission in about 3 months. Do I need to get him back on lantus asap to get it under control? Do I wait a few days monitoring?

Thanks for checking in!

His numbers went down, but I suspect he was getting into a neighbors food for awhile because keeping him inside for a few days and he was back to normal... day 1 he was 200, day 2: 150, day 3&4: 70

I can't even describe the feeling of thinking he had relapsed after the stress and determination and late night bg tests it took to get him into remission. They reaaaally put us through it
