09/06 Fistuk AMPS 160, +2 214, +6 320, +9.5 436

:cool::cool::cool:

How is he feeling? Did he continue to eat at night on his own?
Meant to add an update but had to clean the lake first…

he’s revived during the night. He was more mobile, ate more either alone or with a spoon but no lore syringe. It was fun and I’m happy to put it behind us :)

it’s the first time his AMPS is lower than +6. Does that mean I need to keep an eye on him? Perhaps I’ll take +2 today?

That's really great! What a relief. You want to keep an eye on how much he eats and ensure he gets 1.5X the number of calories.

Hard to say what he will do. In the past (PM cycles of 8/23, and 8/29), where he has cleared the bounce at night, he has nadired at AMPS and headed up from there. You could start with a +2 and take it from there.

It is indeed!! :) so great to see him less suffering. I'm trying to keep an eye. So apparently there's another trick, mummy feeding with her fingers :woot: looks like the food is tastier like this and I managed to give him the whole 65g of BF

In the past
Let's hope the past will be in the past today. I will start with a +2 and update how he's doing.

I'm hoping to treat myself today for a swim in the lake :bighug:

We've got a real basketball player today o_O

He's been asleep most day. Good entry but mostly in bed. He eats well. I partly feed him with a syringe because it gets him eating really well like that.

Gave him 80ml SQ today

You could have taken a break from tests after that 320 at +6 :-)

Glad to hear he is eating well and that you were able to give him SQ fluids. So what finally worked? The syringe method? It was the time taken to give fluids that was bothering him?

I know I just was curious about testing before SQ. I'm wondering if it makes a difference

So what finally worked?
I think it's a combination of things. I used the counter conditioning method from that course I took. So I got a heavy threaded towel and cover it with catnip and spary flyway to make it as an inviting place to be on. I then get him a snack. I'm happy I found that liver time at the hospital. He's crazy about it.
I also heat up the fluid bag, use a 20G needle (rather than the 18G the vet gave me) and use the syringe which makes it a much faster ordeal for him.

I still need my husband's help to keep him busy with the treat bc I need both hand to put the needle in and also to push the syringe so I'll have to see how that could work if I'm alone at SQ time which can happen often
