8/17 Oberon AMPS 147, +7 69, +10 45, PMPS 64, +3 37, +4 77, +5 68, +6 58

Just wanted to say I love your kitty's name!

Also, I hope he'll be okay! I'm still pretty new to this, so those numbers seem daunting to me. Sending you good vibes!

Thanks! We have a whole set of Shakespearean kitties... Oberon, Ariel, and Puck.

He's fine. :) We're getting to be pros at this (3 years and counting...) and these low numbers don't really freak us out anymore. Just means we have to keep a closer eye on him. The switch to Levemir really helped because it slowed down all his ups and downs so they're not as steep. So for example tonight I'll probably check him at +2 and +4, then fingers crossed I'll get to go to bed and my husband will get up and do a +8 check and take it from there. But if he's running low I'll stay up and get a +6. More frequent checks if he's running really low, though. He responds nicely to carbs, too, so that's helpful.

Okay, good to hear! Since you said you were staying up, I was worried. I'm sure I will get there some day lol. I am looking forward to the lower numbers and my boy feeling better, but not so much the late nights, hah!

Thanks for sharing your process. I'll have to get better about waking up in the middle of the night. Of course, anything for the babes! I hope Oberon doesn't go too low on you and you get some sleep. :)

Yeah, the sleep is the biggest problem... I tell people that he's totally fine and we're sleep deprived (but it's worth it). Not too bad now in the summer when I can sleep in, but once my semester starts it gets tougher. This all started during covid lockdown when we were home all the time and could test really frequently, and we've stuck with it.

I feel you! I have a full time job as well, and work in the office 3 days a week; I am never keen to stay up later than I need to! I'll get over that, maybe even tonight with his numbers LOL.

I'm happy you stuck with it. Your crew is lucky to have you guys! :cat:
