7/30 Bubbas AMPS 295 +11 326 PMPS 320, +2 179, + 3 91, 20 mins later 77, 20 mins later 66. 911!!!!!

hey would you look at that! Some yellows!

I like what 1.5 is doing, that looks like progress :)
Yes me too! So tomorrow is day 7 of holding the 1.5 units. His BS hasn’t dropped down to 200 ( couldn’t do any curves this weekend) from what I’ve tested, so per SLGS, would I up his dose to 1.75 starting Tuesday?

+3 91. His BS is dropping pretty fast, it’s scaring me.
I decided to give him a can of the friskys (the stuff that I THINK was spiking his BS last week)

77 about 25 mins later. Now it’s 66! Someone please help me!!!!! I’m feeding him and he’s only eating a little bit. His BG isn’t going up with food

Hi Katrina, how long since the shot? Have you fed only LC or was the Friskies higher carbs?
Hello,

his shot was 5 hours ago. I went to the store and got him fancy feast gravey lovers and he’s eating some now, I’m going to test again , but I was giving him the low-ish carb Frisky’s mixed with his basically zero carb fancy feast.

Should I keep testing him? If so, until what number? It’s 11:30pm my time here and I have work tomorrow, so I’m not sure exactly what number he should hit before I can go to bed.

Great! also, tomorrow morning if it’s under 100, should I give him the 1.50 units? Or maybe go down to 1 unit?
Sorry I wasn't around when his BG was dropping like that. It is always a bit scary. You did a great job though!! And it is great that he is responding to the insulin.

Remember the dose isn't determined by the AMPS or PMPS but how low the dose takes Bubbas and as Bhooma noted he earned a reduction to 1.25U under SLGS by going under 90 yesterday.

Be prepared for a big bounce as his body had not seen such low numbers like that in a while. Not sure if you are familiar with bouncing?

BOUNCE: When a cat’s BG numbers drop into a low range, drop fast, or drop into a range the cat is no longer used to, the liver and pancreas may respond by releasing a stored form of glucose along with counterregulatory hormones. This causes numbers to spike back upward. It can take up to 3 days/6 cycles for a bounce to clear.

No you’re fine! It was late at night I didn’t even expect anyone to reply lol but oh yes you’re also right, it’s not based of the AMPS or PMPS, i did the reduction based of his numbers yesterday!
Low numbers like that in general are great but not when they dip so low so fast!

And yes he’s bouncing today forsure! It was 450 this morning.
