Happy Monday to all! Don't know what's up with today's +3 (higher than preshot, unusual for this lil' lady) but I guess we'll see.

I'm still going back and forth between my parents' house (a happy place for her) and the new place, which is still in some interim stage of unpacking, thanks to a gnarly work deadline that has been kicking my butt and will continue through August 4. I took her over on Friday for "ladies' lunch," hoping to introduce her and get her approval over a tasty meal of Soulistic and chicken powder, but she was having none of it. Meowed the whole way over (10-minute drive, luckily), walked from room to room meowing, checked out the litterbox but didn't use it, and then lay down by the door as if to say "Ready to leave anytime now." I had hoped that she would recognize all of her familiar furniture and rugs, but if she did, it wasn't much consolation as far as I could tell. We stayed for less than an hour. I thought of repeating the experiment today, but I think I'll wait a few more days instead.

I can relate to the work situation, it's a bummer. Play lotto and light some candles, that's what I do!:joyful:

Maybe leave some of the clothes you wear around the new place for her to sniff, and get a blanket that she's been laying on and bring it over there. She'll adjust once she knows she'll be there with you and all her stuff :):bighug:

Kit, you're not kidding -- crazy summer, following a crazy spring. I don't think it's my imagination that life in general is moving at a faster pace than ever before. I'd hoped moving out of a major city would help with that, and it still might. The recent break in the weather has been an inspiration ... I ordered a kite from Amazon ($14.99) and got up from my desk at 5 to go and fly it for an hour at a waterfront park near the new place. I'm determined not to miss summer if I can help it!!

Thanks, Amy! You are right about that ... she's already been a really good sport about seeing all of her things packed up, her apartment emptied of all her stuff, strange people going in and out, and then a PLANE RIDE (which I assured her would be LOTS OF FUN) ... I think she is tired of my "adventure club" big ideas and just wants to sit under the table with her crinkly paper in peace!!

Lotto, that's a great suggestion ... then I could quit my job and do whatever the heck I wanted! I have lots of ideas, too. Though nowadays I might be tempted to abandon all of them, and go sit under the table with Chispa and do nothing for a week, a month, or more ... :cat::p
