Hi everyone Tyler is going good , for those of you that knew my dad had Alzheimer's he passed away today (7-11} due to complications. We got a call from the hospice nurse around 3:30 and she said he would probably pass away today. Me, my sister and brother got there around 4:15
he was in a coma ,they kept him comfortable with liquid morphine and ativan.
He passed away at 6:02 PM
Of course he didn't know we were there but we talked to him, told him how much we loved him and that soon he would be with my daughter Ashley and my mom.
His aids were crying and our favorite aid happened to be a pastor and e all joined hands and she said such a beautiful prayer .
My dad was her favorite and she said she was going to miss him so
Some of the other patients came in his room to say goodbye to him
Me and my sister will still be going up to the nursing home to visit all of them ,we really became good friends with them.
We gave all of his clothes to one patient named Kevin who always looked out for him, Kevin's room was right across from my dad's room.
First Ashley passed June 15, can't believe it's going to be a month soon, it feels like it was just 2 weeks ago, now my dad.
What is strange is that he passed on 7-11 and his birthday is 11-7
Everyday we would worry about him and call 4 times a day or more to see how he was , it's sort of a relief we don't have to worry about him anymore.

I just hope he's with my mom and Ashley now . My sister had a dream a couple of days after Ashley passed and saw her face and Ashley said to her Aunt Cheryl I'm OK.
I haven't dreamt of her yet ,why I don't know
I just wanted to let you all know he's at peace now, he was 89
I hope all the kitties are doing well and saying prayers for those that aren't
I'll be popping in soon :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Diane, I’m very, very sorry to hear this. I’ve been thinking of you so often lately. I know how difficult those final months and days can be with Alzheimer’s, but doubly so for you so soon after losing Ashley. Sending hugs and strength for you as you navigate these coming days.

(((Diane)))
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing.
I was just thinking of you and your sister yesterday visiting your dad daily. Lucky man to have a daughter like you.
So much has happened in the past month that you must be exhausted.
I'm sure that there are a lot of feelings all mixed in. It's hard to deal with all those; try to rest some, my friend.
I'll be thinking of you :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I’m so sorry, Diane. What huge losses you’ve endured. Sending you a huge hug and support. May your Dad be at peace with your beloved daughter, Ashley. Please take care of yourself.
Thinking of you and your family. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I’m so sorry for your loss, Diane. Going through Alzheimer’s must have been so difficult for your father and your family both. I hope he’s at peace now.
This has been such a hard month for you..please take care of yourself.
Hugs and lots of love to you and your family. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh I am so very, very sorry to see this. You have had so much grief and loss lately, I'm sending you so much love and healing energy. :bighug: The signs will come at the right time, try to have faith that they will. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Dear @Diane Tyler's Mom, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Father. I think I have said, my FIL had Alzheimers and I know just how cruel this disease it can be as it robs the patient and family of everything you loved. :bighug: I have to believe your father did know his loved ones were there to provide love and comfort on his last days. I also believe he is with your mom and daughter. Those dreams of your daughter and dad will come to you, it is not in your control, they just happen when the time is right. I still have dreams of my parents and my kitty Tiger and that was ages ago! My girl Tiger passed on July 12th. 2015, so this is always a sad time of the year for me. I just wanted you to know you and your family will be in my thoughts. And as always, when you look up into the skies, you will see a new and very bright shining star, that's your dad. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Diane, i am so sorry for your loss of your dad. It sounds like he was a special man who was well loved. You have had so much to cope with lately, i am hoping the well wishes from everyone gives you extra strength.

Diane I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad so soon after losing your beautiful Ashley so much for you to have to go through. I believe that your Dad Ashley & your Mom are all together now & they are watching over you. I've had a few dreams of my Mom since she passed 2 & a half years ago & I believe when the time is right your Dad & Ashley will come to you in your dreams. Lots of love & hugs to you & please take care of yourself :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you all for your kind words ,love and support, I'm still waiting for a sign from Ashley, I have seen cardinals in front of my apartment a lot but haven't dreamt of her yet, my sister did have a dream of her about 4 days after she passed , she saw Ashley's face and Ashley said to her Aunt Cheryl I am OK
I'm just so relieved that my dad isn't just lying in that bed in the nursing home . It was just so upsetting seeing him like that .
I think of you all as my family I just want you to know that
I'm hanging in there trying to keep busy, going to look for a part time job now
Sometimes at night I'll go to my sister's house and watch tv , when I come home Tyler can hear me come in and starts crying, I know he doesn't like me to be gone that long now, when I did have to go out at least he had Ashley here.
I tell him to man up lol and stop that crying , but he keeps me company even though he's not a cuddle bug .
Thank you all again :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I've been off FDMB for awhile, though still working with my sugar kitty, Leo. I just became aware of Ashley's passing and now your father! GBY! ♡♡♡

@Diane Tyler's Mom,
12/22/23, I lost my step-mom and I share a similar situation. My Dad & she would have been married 50 years next month. They married when I was 12yo; yesterday was the 53rd anniversary of my mother's death in 1971. This all combines together with an odd mix of grief. I do know my step-mom went to be with the Lord. She didn't make it a half-hour after life support was removed. Eo has been acting up this last half month, too. I felt at least three times his life was in serious jeopardy. One day, it will. My heart breaks for all of us. :bighug:

Oh, Diane, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I wish you peace in the memories of your dad and Ashley, wherein there is no past tense to love. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hello Dear Diane. This post freaked me out. I looked at the title and thought…. This can’t be right…. diane’s dad passed last year. But it makes me so sad all over again thinking about how you lost Ashley and your dad within such a short period of time. I kind of get it. I lost my brother to ALS (we were close) and then my dad two months later. That was in 2019. I am thankful that you are still on the Board with us. Diane.
