Considering the numbers he is at, you can still feed at any time. Once you start seeing better numbers, you will need to figure out how to feed the curve.
Keep taking his dose up by 0.25U every 6 cycles till he starts seeing blues.

Oh okay, great! Thanks Bhooma! Will do. Hoping to see them soon

Yes, a drop a below 90 is a reduction with SLGS. Is there a reason you want to follow SLGS rather than TR?
Congrats on the green! :D

Well I have a newborn baby too so I was thinking it might just be easier to follow a slightly milder method. It’s really hard for me to wake up extra times when I’m already short of sleep :)

Ooooh! Congrats on the baby! :woot:

The downside of SLGS is that (a) every drop below the reduction point is a reduction - which means you take back-to-back reductions which often fail because the depot takes 4-6 cycles to adjust (b) you hold failed reductions a week (c) you can increase doses only once a week. With cats that fall out of remission, following a more aggressive dosing method improves chances of them getting regulated/going back into remission.

What you could do is try a lower reduction point with SLGS? Say 70 or 80? So he gets to spend some time healing green?

Thanks :)

Well that makes sense. I can go with TR but there might be some nights where I’ll have to leave out MC or HC if I can’t stay up to test. We’re usually up at least once a night so I try to check it in the middle of the night. I really want him to go back into remission obviously, so I’m willing to try either TR or go with a lower reduction point. Whatever you think is smarter. Totally open to suggestions.

And of course he’s down to 63 now so do I reduce with either method? I’ve got to read up in TR again. I’ll do that now

Did he drop to 63 even after food at +6? He hasn't earned a reduction with TR, but you could try SLGS and reduce and always switch to TR later if you think you're up to it and depending on his numbers.

Yes, he ate some right after I tested at +5. I’ll go with SLGS for more but maybe with the lower reduction like you suggested. We can reduce at 70 instead of 90 I think.

Pretty low PMPS for Oscar. For SLGS, that means I don’t shoot anything??

Edit- 30 minutes later he’s at 144
