Chuck’s been having much better glucose readings and at first he had more energy and seemed happier but in the last two weeks he’s been under the bed for the majority of the day and night. He always sleeps in my bed but lately has opted for under the bed. Nothing has changed other than his numbers are lower, usually in the 100s. He’ll come out for scratches and snacks which is reassuring but the hiding is concerning me. Most of his diabetes symptoms have improved, he’s eating normally, drinking less and plantar stance and fur appearance is improving slowly. I’ve noticed the volume of his urine is a lot, even with less water consumption. He’ll urinate about twice a day but will soak a full corner of the litter box. I was concerned about a UTI a couple weeks back but those symptoms improved once his numbers came back down. Could his lethargy and hiding be normal as he acclimated to lower numbers?

I’m going to schedule him for a vet visit this week and ask for a blood work panel but is there anything else I should ask for? Thanks in advanced!!

Chuck's numbers are dropping at night which might suggest his numbers are lower than what you're seeing later in the PM cycle. Some cats (and humans) feel lousy when their numbers are initially back in normal range. I'd give it a bit of time but I also think having the vet take a look to make sure there's nothing else going on is a good idea.

We’re headed to the vet next week for blood work. He’s also been a bit bloated and I definitely want to get that checked out
