Hi! I just got adventure Julia attached to a Freestyle Libre 2 sensor, got the app on my phone...I'm just home from the vet. As her BG generally seems to be going lower, even with reductions - I felt this was the best way to monitor for low BG. I have some questions about how to interpret my readings compared to my Alpha Trak2 readings, and how to use the same sheet. I'm using the SLGS dosing method and the World mmol/L sheet. So far, I have to say I find instantly knowing her BG kind of thrilling) ...grateful for advice and guidance! With thanks E & J

Unfortunately, there is no comparison between a human meter and a pet meter. That’s why we suggest you pick one and stick with it and try not to compare the two. To illustrate how far off and inconsistent the readings between human and pet meters can be, I several tests using both. You can see the results on Gracie’s SS attached in my signature on the “Micro/AT2” tab.

I’m glad you reduced the dose from 1.25u to 1u but the second reduction to 0.5u was not necessary. As a reminder, it’s very important to get a test every single time before you shoot.

If you decide to stick with the FS Libre or another human meter, let me know and I’ll change the formatting on the SS.

okay...! Yes. My decision to reduce and not preshot was mostly based on running out of strips while having low BG counts, and then thinking the PMPS was lower bc of the Freestyle discrepancy - maybe not the best series of decisions. I just got freaked out seeing things go low ultimately, anticipating having to be at work all through the day tomorrow. I have some AT2 strips and will use those in the sheet for now.

Sounds good. Thank you and let us know of any questions.

She’s rising so you don’t need anymore tests tonight.
