? Antibiotic question 6/27 AMPS 133, +2 74, +10 84

King had a test today at the vet with a urine strip which showed positive to bacteria.

It's only been 7 days since we finished a round of antibiotics for enterococus (7 days injections of Baytril)

I left King at the vet today for a urine & culture exam, and also a dental.

His vet didn't proceed with the dental because his BG was 50.
She neither took urine by cystocentesis for a culture & sensitivity test.

Instead she injected King with Baytril.

My question is should I continue the antibiotic the vet started without knowing which bacteria we fight this time?

Or should I wait for this single Baytril injection to clear his body and for how long?

What would happen if King didn't take any antibiotic for 7 days?
 
Was a culture ever done? It seems like he might need a different antibiotic. Add antibiotic question to your subject to get input from others.

it was cultured 20 days ago and it had enterococcus. took baytril for a week and stopped. today we are 7 days without antibiotics and the sugar went up to 133. I took him to the vet for a culture but they injected him with baytril without a culture. now I have to wait 8 days to culture him
