I was late for her snack by 1 hour she dipped down to 188 even though she got into the higher carb food yesterday.
I'm hoping since she is gaining a little weight back and seeing lower numbers she won't be as hungry and we can get back to feeding her 4 times a day instead of 6. There are someday's she would eat 5 cans a day!

You could reduce portion sizes and break up the same amount of calories into 6 meals vs 4. If she's okay with a longer gap between meals, then 4 is fine. But generally unregulated diabetic cats would like to be fed more often.

Great to see more blues at this dose

She loves to eat! She has gained some weight back still down a pound from her diagnosis. The only time there are gaps in feeding is when I am gone during the day. Tomorrow I should be home for her 5pm feeding. I'm so surprised that that high carb food did not kick her butt! They want to eat because their bodies don't use the food properly, right?

She got the full 9 tonight and at +2.25 she was 209 after a full can and she is waiting on her midnight snack. I try to stay up until 2am to give her something to hold her over since she eats a lot during the day.

We are loving the blues  I can see the difference in her relaxing and chillin like she is healing. Just hope these numbers hold. She has some neuropathy she is having a little difficulty jumping up on things. I'd like to look for a supplement.

Yes. Unregulated cats cannot process their food which is why they are hungry all the time and lose weight.

Once her blood sugar is brought under control, the neuropathy should resolve. Some caregivers have found that giving their cats a supplement of methycobalamin B12 helps with the neuropathy.

Thank you for information, appreciate it! I do believe I have some in my cart to order for her and I go back and forth on it. This will be helpful. I'm hoping the lower numbers will help too.

Did you have the vet check to see if it's arthritis instead that is causing the jumping difficulty? Different treatment if arthritis. It's not uncommon in older cats.

Good point. Could be but before she was diagnosed she was fine and looking back I can see a timeline. The zoomies stopped and she wasn't getting up on the bed or recliner as much. She really doesn't show her age. About 4 months before her DX she was throwing up a little here and there.... some hair in there but not a formed hairball. I took her to the vet and they gave me medication for her upset stomach and it worked. There were no other signs excessive peeing or increased appetite, that came next. I can have the vet check we are discussing the other tests as well.
Maybe the puking was related to elevated blood sugars?

@Bandit's Mom have you ever used this brand? Is that just for reference? By the dosing she would be at 3MG. I also take B12 for nerve damage done in a fall many years ago. Mine is sublingual and flavored.

@Wendy&Neko I've observed her and it is like she is not quite hock walking yet but I'd like to do something before it gets worse. My doctors told me to cut back on mine because it was elevated but ever since I did I can tell the difference.
