6/15 Jack: 126@AMPS, 117@+3 ,new custom dose

Based on today's work schedule, and the fact that I needed sleep last night, I decided to give Jack 6.5 units last night since he has been going low overnight. He was 329 at his PMPS and it was 30 minutes early to recover from the morning stall, but it seemed to work the way I wanted it to; he was 126 for his AMPS and is 117 at +3 after his current 'normal' dose of 7 units since Beastly ate kibble this morning.

I am still planning on getting at least one, hopefully two, overnight readings, but probably not until Friday night since I don't have to work Saturday, and Abby's vet appt isn't until 11am. I'll be up for Jack at his normal time (6:30am EDT) but I can bum around in my PJ's for a bit, and possibly even grab a nap in the afternoon, so I figure the best night is Friday night.

Also, Jack is back to mushy poop (which required some baby wipes on his posterior this morning ) so took the YA away again, and he had Ziwi Peak instead. He's not consistent with eating the Ziwi Peak though, so not sure it's a viable replacement for the YA. I'm not sure why the 50% YA is making problems all of a sudden-- maybe I'll reduce to 25% YA, 25% Ziwi and 50% Elsey's and see what happens.

I can't imagine trying to explain any of this to people who don't live the same struggle, so I just want to say thank you to everyone here. Just being able to commiserate means the world to me, not to mention all the wonderful advice that helps Jack (and previously Mopem) live his best, most healthy life. Sending love and blessings to you all :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I know, I'm so glad this Board exists, we can freely discuss cat poop and not worry about anyone thinking we're nuts!

Yeah, try mixing the YA with the Dr. Elsey's,
Sly had soft poop the first 2 weeks on the YA, but he's ok now, but I am going to probably go straight Dr.E after this bag is gone. The reason I picked the YA was also because of the psyllium, and when he was first DX, he was constipated.

Now I add psyllium powder to the wet for everyone, and all is good in the poop department.

Oh you don't have to explain it to us lol plus we know how Beastly is :p
we get it.

Sounds good Christine , hope you can get that nap in , Keep us posted about Abby's ears and I think you said you are bringing Otis's poop also. How's Lily
I can't keep track of what's wrong with each cat lo! :bighug::bighug::cat:

Im sending perfect poop wishes jacks way!! Im not sure if i missed anyone addressing it, but YA is known to cause some “loose moments” the makers even address it on their site. It always seemed to clear up in a week or so with Lando and one of my other guys. Good luck w your schedule and well wishes to Jack!

When we first transitioned the kibble I discovered too much YA caused diarrhea. I eventually found that 50% YA and 50% Elsey's made the kibble monger happy, didn't cause any poop issue and was low carb. Just not sure why the 50%YA is making trouble for everyone now....

Yeah, no one can keep track of this herd...not even me someetimes. Lily is better after 2 days of yucking up nastiness, she finally got the hairball out. :blackeye: Darn thing won't eat any of that hairball laxative stuff, or even petroleum jelly. She's just one of my 'pukers' Otis actually had a normal poop this morning, so I grabbed some, but I'm hoping for a 'fresher' sample tomorrow morning....he's got a pretty regular BM schedule if he's feeling ok. Thanks for asking about everyone...I'll keep you posted on Abby....just crossing paws I can get her in the carrier.

Hmm, I don't remember seeing that on the website, I'll definitely go look...thanks for that! And thanks for stopping by, hope Lando is doing better.
