Checkers has a sore on his backside, I noticed something was off, last night but he didn't let him get a closer look. This morning, I saw that it looks like an abrasion. Not sure where it came from or what caused it. I wonder if it was a rash that he licked too much. I put a cone on him and it looks like it has scared over.

I wonder if I need to take him to the vet or see if it heals on its own. I am a bit reluctant to take him to the vet as he gets really stressed even with gabapenten. Also he gets really difficult to handle.

I wonder if this might explain the higher numbers.

That probably does explain the higher numbers. Can you share a photo?
I think you might want to take him up to 1U from tomorrow since you can monitor him this week.

Here is a photo, it is a bit below and to the side of his anus. I started a new box of cat litter a few days ago, though it is the same brand I always use, maybe they changed the formula -that is the only thing I can think of that would cause this. He does also have a tendency to overgroom, but that is mostly on his forearms, and never breaks the skin, it just goes bald. Sorry it is a bit blury, that is the best I can get, the darker part is a scab now.
