Today was the first day since I’ve started injecting insulin, that I drew a perfect dose and did not waste a single drop.
Should I be proud or embarrassed?

I took a +9 before AMPS today because I wanted to try finding at what point the BG starts going up after +6 since I’ve been getting blue AMPSes for a while now. But, of course, I get to see a dip instead :D

I’m afraid to write this in case I jinx it but I haven’t seen Shen walking in circles after that day, so maybe he really was trying to reach an itch somewhere.

I’ll still be taking Shen to the vet to have a look at his teeth. I’m considering taking him to the vet who did Masti’s surgery since my friend has had a good experience with him so far. She’ll be checking with him on my behalf.
The only thing is that his clinic is kind of far (an hour’s drive versus 7 minutes to the current vet). He’s a lot less expensive though, so I’ll have to weigh the pros and cons of having him as a long term vet for Shen.

Nice! :D You could try feeding a snack at +8 or +9 and see if that gets rid of the blue preshots. With cats on very low doses, food can bring numbers down because the pancreas produces insulin in response to food.

Keeping everything crossed!

If he's good - you might end up making fewer trips! An hour's drive is quite a bit. Where do you live? Have you thought about Happy Tails in Khar or Top Dog in Andheri? The only good things is that they're a one-stop shop. So it might be easier from the dental point of view for you to do labs, xrays and the actual dental all in one place instead of taking him from place to place. I've heard good things about Happy Tails. I've been to Crown Vet in Worli once - expensive but efficient and all under one roof. They have a branch in Khar, I think?

Very Interesting. Shen will be very pleased with the extra snack(s) :D

Keeping everything crossed!
Thank you!

Happy Tails, Khar is still under consideration since I’ve got quite a few recommendations for them. I’m wary of the bigger all-in-one clinics since I feel that they tend to treat cats with special needs like cash cows. Had that experience with SuperPets. That said I’ve only heard good things about Happy Tails so they’re worth a shot.

I stay in Borivali :blackeye: There are quite a lot of vet clinics in between but most have mixed reviews and it’d be too much of a trial and error trying to find a good one near by. The current vet I’m seeing here is nice and kind but I don’t feel assured with the limited information she shares with me (not even considering the FD bit).
